Just curious how many are seeing Flu A or B? Seems we are getting hit with a lot of Flu A, especially in K.

Apropos of nothing, when I got vaccinated this year I felt like a truck hit me. It's not live so that wasn't it....and then I realized that maybe one of the strains in the vaccine is something my body has seen before? I mean...I'm one where I never react to the attenuated flu vaccine. When I had the nasal spray with the live attenuated I really felt it!
That happened to me with last year's vaccine. That night, I had a low grade 100-degree temp and it lasted less than 24 hours. I wonder if it was the strain of flu that I had caught the year before. I was sick for 3-4 days that time, working in the ER then.

This is just your immune response to the vaccine; it's a good thing, your body has recognized the proteins in the vaccine and is responding with antibodies.

I'm also in MA, adult primary care/internal med. We started early this year with fluA and this past week I've seen three cases of fluB. I've seen more flu cases so far this year then all of last year! ?
I have 400 k-4. I average sending home a couple of kids per week. Last week, I sent home over 20 (8 in one day). I know most of those won't go to the dr. But some kept sending them back after a couple of days and I kept sending them back home, cause they were obviously ill. They were here long enough to continue the spread. The poor K kids got it the worst. Of last weeks wave, 5 parents to call to report A, this week, 3 reported A. Come on, weekend....

We're seeing a lot of B in our school, and several more home with flu symptoms that they either haven't been to the doctor or they just haven't told me.
So am I ( Northern Indiana) !! We have a major onslaught of Strep Flu and a very nasty GI bug. Im back from being out for 3 days myself.

Just sent a kid out last week because I was concerned about pneumonia. Diagnosed with type A, did have bronchitis on top of it.
I did a flu clinic this fall for my staff ~40% of the staff went and got vaccinated. I don't have any data yet about flu impact there yet.
The vaccine is impacting severity I'm noticing with the students. Kid I sent out last week - no vaccine. Another student the week before - also type A, vaccinated and back on their feet (with doctor clearance) after missing 3 school days.
