Remember! Persons on airborne precautions must be in a negative pressure room and the door must be closed at ALL times! Persons on droplet precautions can have their room door open, however.

i have a question.. now if a pt is on droplet precaution, then what PPE is required? I know that gown and goggles / face shield are used when to avoid splashes or dressing drainages or trachs, but what if a nurse just wanted to listen to lung sounds and the patient was droplet... what would she wear?/.. im assuming, only gloves and mask? but what about the gown? is it needed?

I would wear gloves but I hope someone else has a definite answer!!

i would wear a mask and a gloves just to be sure..ull never know when theyre going to cough/sneeze..and you always need a mask for droplet precautions..

yeah i think it is, u don the gown, mask and gloves before entrance to room and take them off before leaving

can anyone pls enlighten me. i thought with droplet precaution you only need mask? am i correct?

This dang stuff is sooooooooooooooo confusing. I just want to get this dang test over with and OUT OF MY LIFE!!!!
