Indiana State University

Published

Hi Everybody!

Has anyone on here had any experience with the Indiana State University, LPN to BSN program that Brian is talking about?

I have been told that in order for me to keep my current position I have to get my RN.

I'm just looking at different options right now. There is a community college in my area that does the LPN/RN fast track program, but there is a waiting list and no guarantee that I would get in.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Well, I did read your post. The whole thing. And I agree that it would be stupid, unfair even, for this kind of motion to pass, but I think that the board can still recognize the school as invalid for licensure just to be within their board rules. It doesn't help me any, because I would like to enroll in ISU today if I could. But this just worries me, and then there is the issue of not being able to complete clinical hours because there is no partnership with the state. Does this mean I need to go to Indiana to complete clinicals?

I just passed Microbiology test yesterday. I am so happy, because I only studied for two weeks and I got a B. I studied the College Network module( got an e Bay) and Lisa Arends study guide CD. Now, I think that I am ready to go... I sent my portifolio to indiana state with all the pre req requirements and the only that was missing was Micro. The aplication deadline is june 1st, so if I would be conditionally accepted ,I can start phase II on fall . I am so excited...

Congrats on passing. Had you ever taken or studied this subject before? Wondering what I need to do to get the same result.

Thanks. I never studied Micro before. I used Elcessior Microbilogy module from college network ( I got an ebay for $70) and I used Lisarends notes for Micro( cd room, for $9.99 on ebay). I only studied for 3 weeks ,because I wanted to meet the deadline for Fall aplication (June 1st). I studied for about 4 hours everyday. I printed notes and highlights from the CD and I toke with me to work. I also made my own notes, like a summary. The test is not easy, but it is doable. You can do it!

Very impressive. :yeah: Just what I needed to hear. Why did you feel that 2 different training modules were needed? I assume they have different styles of teaching the material. Take care.

Not sure if you still need this info...but a list of states that have approved / recognized ISU's LPN-BS track has been posted at http://www1.indstate.edu/nursing/pdfs/lpn-bs-docs/lpn-bs-approving-states.pdf

Indiana State University's program is recognized by Georgia Board of Nursing. As others have stated, there is no way to determine whether it is an online class or not. You can receive your license via endorsement in Georgia if you have sat for any State's board unless noted. They answered my questions and so I'm a go on this. WITHOUT college network!

In general, why would a state not want to accept the LVN-BSN from ISU?

I suppose not certain that criteria to get the degree would not meet their standards...though I would think the info provided to the agency should be thorough?? Or competition for in-state schools? If someone attends an out of state school, that is one less person to attend an in-state school.

It seems it has been a while since anyone has commented on the Georgia BoN accepting or not accepting the ISU LPN-BSN degree. Anyone know of news regarding the acceptance by Georgia for ISU LPN-BSN? I really want to get started on this program if it is accepted in Georgia.

Any help/advice much appreciated!

Document on their website says Georgia is recognized or approved (http://www1.indstate.edu/nursing/pdfs/lpn-bs-docs/lpn-bs-approving-states.pdf)

Do anyone know if ISU is accepted in SC?
