  1. Congratulaions for passing Nurs 330!
  2. I don't know where you live but just be aware that clinicals site are very hard to find. Before yyou spend a lot more money make sure that you have the place set up to do your clinicals when you need . I live in Chicago area and there are no clinical site here. Good Luck!
  3. One Hospital, Northwestern Hospital told me that there is no nurse could help me, 1 to 1. They told me that if I work there was easier or if I was a graduated student, not undergrad. Another Hospital in Miwakee was concern the fact that I was going there without an instructor and the fact that I would not be able to test my skill in a lab before actually go to clinicals. Three other places denied having any contract with ISU. Three or four places told me that they were going to think about but they came back and said tha it was not possible( no explanation). Today I even called Kim Cook at ISU and I told her my concern. She kept saying that there are places in Illinois with a contract and they are also getting more places. She said that there are several students around Chicago area. I really don't know if I believe. How came they have so many students around here and no clinicals already set up. I am thinking about give up and apply for the cities of chicago college. I thought about Elcesior, but I do not have nerves for the CPNE. Are you enrroled in the ISU program?
  4. I am in the program and I live in ILLINOIS, Chicago area. I am trying to find a clinical site and a preceptor for my clinicals. I must called 15 places ( even ones listed as " current" site for clinicals in ISU website) and I have had no luck. I need only for Spring/09, but I am just worried about spend all this money and do not find a clinical site and/or preceptor. Anyone doing this program around Chicago area?
  5. One more info: I am trying to go to Clinicals sites that have already being approved. If you want a new clinical the process take longer
  6. I completed all the pre requisits, applied for the program and got conditionally accepted for Fall . In my accptance letter they gave me a choice to register for N 208 (LPN/BSN transition and N 304( first class with 45 hours clinicals ) in the Fall. That surprised me too, because I tought that I had to complete N208 first, but they told me that I could do both. I also need to test out for 3 Nursing subjects, which I tought that I need to do before any class with clinicals.
  7. Hey guys, I live in Illinois( Chicago area) and I am admitted into LPN/BSN for Fall 08. My first class with clinicals is going to be this Fall( Nurs 304). The only problem is that there is no Clinical site in my area. The only one is in Northwestern Hospital ( Arlington Heights) but the contract has being only initiated( since January). Yesterday I talked to Mark( the guy responsible for set up clinicals for students) and he told me to call a few places to ask if they will accept students and then he would initiated the process. Well, I called 8 places amd none of them wants students unless from a local CollegesSo, my next option is Val Paraiso, IN ( 2 hours ). I am kind of desapointed because the clinicals are not found by the ISU, but fby students. We give them a contact number and then they initiated. If I do not find a place closer, I will drive the extra miles for clinicals. That's crazy!
  8. Thanks. I never studied Micro before. I used Elcessior Microbilogy module from college network ( I got an ebay for $70) and I used Lisarends notes for Micro( cd room, for $9.99 on ebay). I only studied for 3 weeks ,because I wanted to meet the deadline for Fall aplication (June 1st). I studied for about 4 hours everyday. I printed notes and highlights from the CD and I toke with me to work. I also made my own notes, like a summary. The test is not easy, but it is doable. You can do it!
  9. I think that is crazy too. Do you guys know if I can find them anywhere else? I need to test out of it : Nursing 224(Nurs care of adults), Nursing 328( Nurs care of the child and Family) and Nurs 330( Nurs care of the childbearing Family). I need to take a test give by Indiana State University( in a proctor site). I need to pay half of the cost of credits of the classe before the test and half after. I need to score minimum 80%. I do not have to get the College Network modules for the first try, but if I do not pass, I only can test it again if I show to Indiana state prove that I bought the modules. They do give a list of books that we can study from it , but there are so many! When I test out Nursing 106( mental health), I just got one book, but I only scored 80.5%. For the General education classes, we can use the Elcesior exam. Please help!
  10. I just call them Yesterday to verify. They told me that the General education modules cost $495 and the Nursing modules cost $630:cry:
  11. I am going to Indiana State University and I need 3 nursing modules( I already test out Nurs 106). Does anybody know if I can get them at ebay. I need to buy it before August, so if I do not find them at other places , I need to buy though College Network. they charge $630 for the Nursing modules. Thanks for any help!
  12. I just passed Microbiology test yesterday. I am so happy, because I only studied for two weeks and I got a B. I studied the College Network module( got an e Bay) and Lisa Arends study guide CD. Now, I think that I am ready to go... I sent my portifolio to indiana state with all the pre req requirements and the only that was missing was Micro. The aplication deadline is june 1st, so if I would be conditionally accepted ,I can start phase II on fall . I am so excited...
  13. Hi, can you please tell me more about your clinicals trought ISU? How many days a week? Do you had all your pre req done before the first nursing class? I really appreciate if you let me know, JetSki
  14. Thank you so much, DuchgirlRN. I really appreciate your help!
