How long ago did you buy yours? I just met with the a few weeks ago and now they are asking 2500 and change for them. Can you give me the titles of them and maybe they are on ebay and I just dont see them. You can keep me in mind if the op changes her mind just incase. I have been looking on ebay for the ones for clep dantes and stuff and see lots of them and the nursing concepts (for excelsior students) But not sure what to even look for for these one.

There is a TCN module on ebay titled "mental health aspects of nursing practice" for ISU. I pay a lot of attention to these listing (ebay addict here) and this is the first I've seen. Anyone know what that is? could it be one of the modules? another program?

It was in May. That's what they normally are but they were running a special when I got mine. That's why I bought the gen eds and phase 2s all at once. I saved $1500 getting them right away so I did.

OK cool so they are on there just have to watch out for them.....at 2500 for 4 thats even more than the 495 for the ge modules.........

I'm gonna write them down and keep an eye out for them....any other possible ISU student that want to work together to get these modules then possible do a switch let me know.

You do not have to buy these modules to take the test outs. It is just like any other test out, you can buy the materials to prepare or just study. The four test out modules are NURS106 (Mental health nurisng), NURS224 (Nursing care adults), NURS328 (Nursing care child/family), and NURS330 (Nursing care childbearing family). I took the fist one (106) and I did have to take it twice because it was hard and there was a lot of drugs on there that I had not hear of but it didn't come close to costing me what the study guides would have through TCN.

I met with TCN and the man was very helpful, I even signed up for it with Phase one being over $6,000...but I backed out a day later (you have 48 hours I think to change your mind) and they didn't give me any trouble with it. The Phase two test out study guides were available too...they are list as $2,520 on my sheet.....that is as much as it would take to just take the class! For me, a 3 credit hour class runs @ $650 give or take. I plan to study for the test outs, use my knowledge that I have accumulated on the job and take them. You have two attempts. The test outs themselves cost quite a bit to take. I will have to look for the exact numbers but they are expensive to take.

Chelle, have you taken all 4 of the phase 2 test outs now? I'm going to take 224 (adults) first and was wondering how it is. I figured the mental health aspects one would be easy so I'm glad to hear the warning about that one!

I have only taken the first one, 106 (Mental health), I need to get my butt in gear and take 224. I will be registering for it soon, I am just trying to wrap up this semesters courses. Have you registered for it yet? I am still trying to find the figures but it was pretty expensive....waiting on my next student loan check to come:-)

I thought you had to take 106 before 224...Dr. Miller is always saying 100's before 200's, 200's before 300's ect.?

Thanks for the info.I wish there was someway to get a guide to study from to get an idea of what to study . Those are broad subjects and cover alot of material. I have one book on maternity just alone(never opened it for lvn school though but had to have it) As for mental health there are a few chapters in the books I have as well as in the saunders nclex review book. But for Nursing care adults, care child/family and Nursing care childbearing family I would not know where to even start........can anyone make any suggestions?

I have some more information on the phase 2 test outs. You can also buy the costomized study materials (CSM they call them) through ISU, they are published through TCN and ISU sells them for $495 each. The cost of the test outs is $58.25 per credit hour, the test outs are listed as follows: NURS106 is 2 credit hours, NURS224 is 5 credit hours, NURS328 is 4 credit hours, and NURS330 is 4 credit hours. The cost to take the test a second time is half of what it costs the fist time. If you fail the challenge course/test out twice you have to then enroll in the course.

I will see if I can find any outlines or guides as to what to study for the test outs besides having to buy a $500 kit....that is insane.

This is still a better price than what TCN is offering right now.........2520 for 4 modules is 630 a piece........

Hi guys,

I just purchased all 4 CSM from EBay last week. I have been looking for them for 6 months religiously and never saw them before last week. So that means there are not alot of them. I will keep them in good shape and sell them after I am done. I am still struggling with Algebra at present! I will then move on to Chemistry and Public Speaking and hope to apply next fall.
