Hi,

Because the ECE is a 6 credit test which satisfies English. It is my understanding you need 9 "English credits...6 from English Comp and 3 from Tech writing.....?

Oh ok. On my paprework It does have a total of 9 credits needed, but broken into 3 different classes. Eng comp, tech writing, and analysis of lit. I'm learning..... Bare with me.

On mine, Analysis of Lit is under Literary Studies, not Basic Studies. You need 6 SH which ISU only awards 4 credits for Lit so that is where Ethics comes under.

It is very hard to figure out what we need.

I guess the best way is to always call ISU and ask directly. I certainly do not want to take a wrong class or one I do not need.

Good Luck all!

Marcia M is wonderful and always really really helpful.

Can someone pm me with the direct number to ISU. The number I have is the 800 one and they direct all calls to TCN for ?'s.

I have been trying to decide between ISU and EC on which school of nursing I want to attend. I really like ISU because of the clinical part over EC. That CPNE that EC does scares me to death. I only have 3 classes that I took 11 years ago at my local cc (Eng Comp I, College Alg and General Psych). When you get into the program, where do you take your test at (nursing and upper gen. ed)? My plans are to start in the fall at my local cc for Eng Comp II, Pre-Chem and Speech. I will be testing-out the rest. Does ISU except A&P and Micro through EC test-outs because it says on the ISU website the A&P and Chem has a lab with it and it's my understanding that EC's test don't. I'm I wrong. Can someone give me some info.

Hi dkhrbh,

I am testing out as many subjects as I can. I asked previously to the to your chemistry question. If I test out of chemistry, which is a CLEP test, then you do not need the lab part. But if you take a chemistry class it has to have a lab. I am using College Network, used text books, and test helper books. I am getting information in different sources. One source is not enough for me. I plan on applying for ISU nursing classes in the fall of '09.

Best of luck and keep posting,

Brenda J

Thanks nursepeach.

I have been checking out cost of used textbooks online. I am currently studying the clep books for Human Growth and Development and Introductory Sociology. My plans are to apply Fall '09 also. Good luck with your studies. After I clep these two I will move on to A & P, Micro and Chem. I am taking Pre-Chem, English Comp II and Speech this fall at my local CC. I figured if I take Pre-Chem it would help with the Clep Chemistry.

Yes they take the EC test. That's how I fulfilled that requirement. :)
