Is chemistry required for ISU. If it is I must have overlook on my papers.

I think so. I had it so I'm not sure if it was chemistry specifically that was required or if it just fulfilled a lab science requirement. Check your program guide to be sure. Should be listed with the pre-reqs that you need before applying to the program.

I was going through my study materials for courses that can be tested out of in ISU's LPN to BSN. I have four study guides for clep and dantes test outs if anyone is interested. The test out booklest I have are for Introduction to Public Speaking, History of the United States II, Analyzing and Interpreting Literature, and Introduction to World Religions. If anyone is interested in them just email me.

Hi everyone,

I started ISU last year and completed gerontology in December. I have 7 more GE classes before I start the 4 nursing modules. Hopefully I'll test out in Pathophysiology this FEB.

How does ISU all work. I am reading you can test out. At TCN do they offer actual classes or is it all test outs? I am a LVN student and just trying to look at my options but living in California ISU is the only online. I would only have to take from what you guys are saying Gerontology,Pathophysiology, chemistry, statistics, analysis of literature and religion. So Im just trying to figure out what the process is and how it all works. Thank you!

You should be able to find the information you are looking for if you read the thread in its entirety because its all been posted or just read over the program information here: http://www1.indstate.edu/nursing/programs/bs/lpn-bs/lpn-bs.htm

if thats all you have left then you need to finish ONLY CHEMISTRY before applying to ISU... The other classes you can take while your doing the nursing classes... You should talk to IS or the college network, the will look at you transcripts and tell you for sure.

Yeah Ive read all the posts. Im just confused on if people are just testing out of classes or if they are taking the actual classes. If they are taking the actual classes are they taking them through TCN or in a college classroom. Thank you for all your help! I appreciate your guys responses :)

Depends. Most of the pre-reqs can be tested out. You can buy TCN study guides or books...either way. Or you can take them traditionally. I've done a mix over the years. But TCN is the testouts. You can buy study guides for CLEP, Dantes and Excelsior tests through them or get them cheaper on ebay. ISU has 4 classes you can test out of but that's it. The rest are distance learning classes. Some have clinicals too.

Does ISU offer chemistry through their distance learning?!
