In One Sentence; if you weren't a nurse, you'd be a ________

Nurses General Nursing

Published

We've had such a long thread regarding whether or not we'd be a nurse if we could go back in time and start over again.

Let's do something light-hearted!

I'd like to know in one sentence what your dream job would be if you could choose anything...anything at all.

My dream job would be a photographer for National Geographic.

:D

Specializes in Community Health Nurse.

If I weren't a nurse, I'd be a doctor just like I dreamed I'd become from the time I was eight years old. :sniff: Where did I go wrong! :o

Now, I'd like to build my own hospital and run it the way a hospital should be run, treat staff the way they should be treated, and provide patient care the way it should be provided. My staff would have excellent benefits including educational benefits, and make an above average salary with no mandatory overtime. We would all be one big happy hospital family! :D

Specializes in insanity control.

I'd be a bum living in the wild with the wolves.

I would be a costume designer for a ballet company or a textile designer. I would be a famous artist!!! LOL:roll

Specializes in Trauma,ER,CCU/OHU/Nsg Ed/Nsg Research.

I would be a barista (coffee/specialty drink maker) in a little coffee kiosk on the ocean shores of WA state....I would serve the BEST java/mochas/capuccine in town and know ALL the locals and have fun w/the tourists. I would live in a shack right on the water and need NOTHING luxurious other than the view.

This is a seriuos dream of mine. I am trying to figure out how to make it happen....:)

I used to be a Barista- and it was fun! My husband still laughs at me, because I know more about coffee drinks and different coffees than I know about mixed drinks and different wines...:p . He also doesn't understand why I'll spend more than $10 a pound sometimes for some Kenya AA or Sumatra, but will get on him for what he'll spend for a good bottle of Scotch. But, I "need" the good coffee to start my day off right, and he probably needs the Scotch to deal with me sometimes:chuckle .

Well, besides the obvious fact of going back and being a journalist (which I do enjoy)

I would LOVE to be one of those people that gets to write for a magazine about cars and test drive some of those really high end ones all the time....

or a stunt driver for the movies/commercials - you always see at the bottom of the commerical - "proffessional driver - do not attempt" yeah, I wouldnt mind being a professional driver

If I could hone my photography skills a little more I would take that up part time too...I love doing that....

Can I be your assistant!!!!!!!!!:D

I would be a dancer. I took years of ballet, jazz, tap, etc... I've broken more toes and ankles and now have a hard time getting up en pointe. I would still like to take classes, but it's hard to find the time so I practice at home:o

I'd be a billionaire stay at home mom who plays guitar and sings rock and roll in her spare time.

Oh, and start a home for abused kids.

And move someplace where winter never comes!

steph:cool:

edited to add . .. I would seriously like to further my education and get away from bedside nursing and see if I could make some small difference in the lives of abused kids. Stories like the one I posted last week about the two year old girl who was beaten by her mommy's low-life boyfriend just breaks my heart. Two hours before she was killed, CPS did a home visit. Something is wrong with our system.

:o

Jules Winnfield quote from Pulp Fiction

"I'm just gonna walk the earth, you know like Cain in Kung FU basically walk from place to place and get in adventures!"

Most of you all could have figured this out:

If I weren't a nurse, I'd be Jimmy Buffett.

Kevin

This is a GREAT thread!!! If I weren't a nurse, I would have a book/knitting shop, where I could sell all the best yarn and books and have a room for classes and coffee. This was always a dream of mine....

I think my husband always wanted me to be Stevie Nicks, too! LOL!:chuckle

(He'd kill me if he knew I told......he used to carry a pic of her in his wallet when we first started dating! Hahahahaha!) :p
