Wooo Hooo I got my letter yesterday and just thought it would be great if everyone who get's their letters had a place to post. If they were accepted or not. Then we can all congratulate or console each other in one place :)
My letter said I passed the entrance exam. (LVN school) That means I got in. Woo Hoo I am still happy about that!
What did your letters say? Post it Here!
I got my official acceptance letter yesterday. All the students applying to my program got letters yesterday. I have a friend who is on the alternate list. The first letter I got said I passed the entrance exam. Because my score was so high I knew I got in and was told by a teacher that yes that was the score that would get me in. Those who got in last year got 66% and above and I got 83% so it was a no brainer. But I had to get that official letter of acceptance and I was so happy! It's strange knowing you are getting in but still waiting for that acceptance letter.
My letter says: "Congratulations! You have been accepted into the Grossmont Vocational Nursing (VN) program, Class 54, which begins Monday, August 21, 2006."
The orientation is July 18 at 8am so I will have to miss summer school on that day. I have to get fitted for a uniform after orientation.
It also tells me that course fees are $2,500 and must be paid in full by August 1st. I will have to put it on a credit card because I don't have the money.
"These fees cover the three-semester program, as well as books, uniform, and scrubs."
Well at least it covers everything.
congratualtions to everyone who got accepted and to those still waiting just hang in there it will happen sooner or later. :)

I'm very happy. I applied to the ADN program also haven't heard anything yet. Oh well. I can bridge over later. I'm very excited and anxious to see and learn all the new things that this year will bring. Congrats to everyone that has been accepted. To those that are still waiting or have been denied don't give up it will happen when the time is right. I know I have thought about giving up more than once but my family was there to give me a boost when I needed one.

Tonight I have homework, homework, homework, with an abbreviation test tomorrow. On Thursday, a test on 4 chapters, and on Friday, final exam. I haven't even began to read the chapters. Plus, I have 4 skills to do tomorrow. Clinical begans Monday, etc. etc. etc. Two weeks after class ends, I'll be taking my state boards.
The pace of this class is making me wonder if I can handle the pace of the LPN program.
I am totally exhausted. Good luck to all!!

Finally recieved the acceptance letter. I have been waiting for the past 1.5 months. It just seem like for ever and the worst part about it was that I kept blaming the post man for not bring in the letter. I guess now I can put him on my christmas list. Cant wait to start...all I have to figure out is the finances.
Hey CB - I used to live in Sharon, how awesome! :) I went to school there for my 7th grade year (seems like forever ago). My grandparents lived there most of their adult life (my grandmother taught at Sharon JH/High as a Science teacher many years ago) and my mother grew up there. Congrats on getting in - that is wonderful!!! Enjoy it!

Congrats and Good luck to all!
Well after TWO years of work to get into the RN program I was rejected! I can appreciate being rejected on my merits BUT they did not read the transcript I included with my application or inquire with the Registars office to see my offical copy. I was declined for not taking PSY 100 I took it (years ago), gave them the paper work, they did NOT read it. I'm so upset. I talked to the Nursing Program Coordinator & she did not see the class on my transcript until (over the phone) I had her count the columns & FINALLy see the class. STILL they don't seem to want to take responsibiltiy. So devestating - Monday I'm going to talk to eveyone in charge, but UGH you do everything right & for some reason they don't read your app & reject you?!?! I don't know why I couldn't get the same consideration as the rest of the students.

I actually received a phone call first telling me "Congrats! You've been accepted to our Nursing Program". I was then told to go by the Nursing office to pick up a packet. In it was information about orientation and things I need to get before the first day of class. The letter goes like this...
Please be informed that you have been accepted for admission into the Nursing 112 class of the Evening/Weekend Nursing Program for the FALL 2006 Semester.
On Wed, July 5th, 2006 at 6:30pm you must attend orientation. If you do not come in for orientation and register in person for NUR 112 on July 5, 2006 you will not be considered a candidate for admission into the Evening/Weekend Nursing Program.
Below is a statement for you to sign, indicating your acceptance or non-acceptance of admission into Nursing 112. Indicate your choice and return the statement only by certified mail to the Nursing Department or in person. If your reply has not been received by Thursday, June 22, 2006 this letter of acceptance is INVALID.
Along with this letter of acceptance are a number of ENCLOSURES, which you are to READ CAREFULLY. The enclosures contain information you will need to become appropriately prepared for the classrom and clinical area.

That really does suck hopefully they will reconsider their mistake. I hope it will all work out for you in the end, after all it wasn't your fault they didn't read your transcripts correctly.
