IF you WEREN'Ta nurse, what would you be???

Published

:rolleyes:Ok...SO I am curious because at least once a month, I don't want to be a nurse. Maybe something triggers that or IDK, but I actually think I could be a singer. Or just travel the world...but I would need alot of money for that. Maybe a farmer- I know sounds crazy but...sometimes I just want to be free like that.

I went to school for 6 years and studied art...then I made the switch because I knew it would be a "fall-back career.

Art is an unpredictable market so...

Now...wait a minute...for all you hecklers out there, I enjoy being a nurse, and this "fall-back" thing was when I first started. My view has changed, so don't post anything passing judgement.

So....yeah.... If you weren't a nurse what would you be? (esp. in this dry desert of an economy)

If I had the time and money to go back to school I would go for Vet Med in a heartbeat.

Specializes in ER, Step-Down.

my biggest pet peeve about nursing is being stuck inside a single building/unit for hours upon hours. Ideally, I'd find myself in a job that keeps me outdoors. My cousin and her husband are anthropologists/palentologists - so playing in the dirt all day sounds awesome! otherwise, I'd get my pilots license, move to Alaska, and be a bush pilot/tour guide/wildlife photographer living in a small log cabin with at least 100 acres to call my own - hehe. :)

Specializes in Health Information Management.
Some sort of career in writing or editing. It seems like it would be much less stressful.

If you want a less stressful profession, don't become a professional writer or editor. Just trust me on this one.

Specializes in pediatric.

Broadcast Journalism.

Most definately.

Me too. Now at this point, if ever I am not a nurse, I think I'll be a storm-chaser.

Specializes in Med/Surg.

Oh, I'm sure it's plenty stressful, just not in the same way that nursing is. At least I probably won't kill someone in writing or editing. :uhoh3:
