IF you WEREN'Ta nurse, what would you be???

Published

:rolleyes:Ok...SO I am curious because at least once a month, I don't want to be a nurse. Maybe something triggers that or IDK, but I actually think I could be a singer. Or just travel the world...but I would need alot of money for that. Maybe a farmer- I know sounds crazy but...sometimes I just want to be free like that.

I went to school for 6 years and studied art...then I made the switch because I knew it would be a "fall-back career.

Art is an unpredictable market so...

Now...wait a minute...for all you hecklers out there, I enjoy being a nurse, and this "fall-back" thing was when I first started. My view has changed, so don't post anything passing judgement.

So....yeah.... If you weren't a nurse what would you be? (esp. in this dry desert of an economy)

Specializes in Dialysis, Home health.

:crying2:

Y'all make me wanna quit before I really start...ahhh...the freedom ( But why does nursing seem like a jail?)

I dnt know...at least I'll have enough money to actually do some of the things I want after saving a bit:rolleyes:

Specializes in NICU, PICU, Pediatrics.

Well, I was a Military Police Officer for a little while and was going to be a police officer or Lawyer, but changed my mind. Being a Lawyer is too much desk and paperwork!! I would really like to be an Engineer. I was going to school to be an Engineer and then fell in love with neonatal nursing! I still would like to eventually get a degree in Constructional Engineering some day. I always wanted to design and build!!

Specializes in Developmental Disabilites,.

right now I would just go for a job that allows me to sit and take all the alloted breaks, 30 min lunch and two 15mins breaks............ what a dream! Now I am really considering what to do with my life. I have been a nurse for about 6 mos and I can't see myself doing it long term.

Well, I'd be in law enforcement, specifically a detective. I watch all those documentary type crime shows, Cold Case Files, American Justice, City Confidential, you name it, I'm glued to it. Or something creative. What, I do not know.

Some of ya'll should write your stories or at least blog. I would love to hear how police officers become nurses or soliders or engineers or whatever.

I actually see aspects of nursing in many professions. I get creative with wound care; reverse engerineering whatever was done previously to that ostomy. How many times have I had to play security, lawyer and Major Houlihan with parents and docs?

As for me, what would I be? A writer.

I would love to work with an animal rescue, like Best Friends, but just with cats.

Specializes in L&D,Wound Care, SNC.

A pastry chef.

Master Gardener!

Taking classes this Fall to accomplish this but it won't be my primary career.

Well, I WANTED to be a zookeeper. But...

I figure I've had my share of bodily fluids.

I'd instead be a world-famous chef. Watch out, Emeril.

I think I would be either a social worker or a taste tester for fine restaurants LOL :lol2:

I would probably still be in nuclear engineering if I wasn't a nurse. I really would like to have been an astronomer/astrophysicist
