For some reason I was thinking about Spinal Tap, at the end, when the guy says he would sell hats if he wasn't a musician.
So if you weren't a nurse, what would you have become?
If I was being serious, probably a social worker, because when I went back to school, I was debating between social work and nursing.
If I was being whimsical, I'd be an astronaut. Even though I think I'm too tall, and know I'm too out of shape and don't have the science and engineering brain for it. But it's a fun thought!
I ended up choosing nursing after many career changes throughout my childhood and adolescence. Disregarding my initial dreams of being a cheerleader and a waitress, I wanted to be a paleontologist, veterinarian, computer engineer, and pharmacist.
If I could really change, I would choose to be a car designer now. That or an FBI agent. I developed a knack for true crime in recent years and if I could hack the training, I would so go in. There's a branch in my city too! ![]()
Doula, IBCLC, children's author, landlord, daycare provider for medically fragile kids or copy editor all sound good. Nursing is my second career and no matter how nutty a shift can be, there's always at least one moment when I know this is a really good fit for my skills and personality.
If I only knew then what I know now: prosthetics/orthoticsIf I was 25 years younger: neurobiologist, geneticist, virologist, microbiologist, research psychologist.....yeah...love sciences
Big dream: own a bar/hostel/rv park on a beach somewhere in Central America.
Wow! Almost spot on alike! I LOVED my microbiology class and I would've also loved to have become a geneticist, virologist, microbiologist or research scientist.
I have a talent for art/drawing/painting so the art world has never been far from my thoughts. Graphic designer or fashion designer would've been quite interesting!

A doctor, actually, which was what I wanted to be my whole teenaged life. Unfortunately, my own poor life choices in my last year of high school made that not impossible, but less likely, and I picked nursing instead as a related career that would take less time to begin than becoming a physician.
I have also aspired to be a writer and a photographer, both of which I dabble in but lack the time and the focus to pursue in earnest.
