If you're on a break, are you reading for "fun"?

Are you reading for "fun" right now instead of nursing books?

I just finished The Beach by James Patterson

I'm now reading I Know This Much Is True by Wally Lamb. Pretty good so far - it's over 800 pages and I'm only on 100 something.

What good books are you reading right now?

I am reading "The Good Earth" by Pearl S Buck. Very interesting!

I have to tell ya, too, I read "I Know This Much Is True" a few years back, and it is fantastic. Stick with it, its a ride you'll remember forever. And (don't I just LOVE Wally Lamb) Shes Come Undone is even better IMO.

I am reading Chicken Soup for the nurses soul. I love it.

I read that and I was sorta disappointed.

It wasn't as good as I thought it would be. :imbar

I need to put my copy up for sale on Ebay.

i can't afford to buy any new books, so i re-read my old ones, read my scrapbook magazines, etc.

I love frequenting my local library to check out new books. Saves a bundle and works much better than dropping money on Ebay or Amazon.com. I really only ever buy reference books that I know I need to refer to. It's worked great for me! I find that I finish a good book in just a few days and rarely go back and read it ever again. The library might be a good alternative to just re-reading old books. :)

i just finished reading whitney, my love by judith mcnaught. if you like historical romances then read this book!!!!! it's the best book i have ever read!!! it's in the "gone with the wind" era and focuses on a pretty, but wild english tomboy named whitney (of course) who is shipped to france to live with her aunt and uncle so they can turn her into a "proper lady". she returns to england (unbeknownst to her, that she has been arranged to be married to a handsome duke to pay of her fathers debts) being more beautiful, and set in her ways, than before. it has all of the good stuff a romance should have: jealousy, deciet, love, passion, betrayal, heated aruments and more. woo is it steamy and i guarantee after reading the first page you won't be able to put it down!

do i sound like i'm pushing this book or what?? :chuckle

I caught up with my Harry Potter reading. Read Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix! Exellent books. JK Rowlings is such a wonderful writer. My son Ben got a couple of Lemony Snickets books for Christmas and he is reading those. He highly recommends them, so we will see about them for spring break! :)

Wally Lamb is an excellent writer. I have read the one you are reading plus "She's Come Undone".The female character in it is so dead on it is hard to believe it was written by a man! I think I have also read The Beach as well but I have read so many books that it is hard to remember them all. Reading for pleasure is something I have not much time for. 2 jobs plus 2 kids and nursing school 2 nights a week all year round keeps me busy. lol.

Hope you all had agood holiday! Cheers to 2005!

That is one of my favorite books!

Believe it or not, I am reading my Nursing magazine subscriptions that have piled up since September. I have AJN, Nursing 2004 and Nursing Made Incredibly Easy. For some reason reading Nsg magazine is not like a textbook to me and I really enjoy it. I'm also catching up on my subscritption to Allure and People!

Ahhh, 'Extreme Measures' measures was excellent. I love medical mystery books. Was that written by Michael Palmer? I have never been disappointed with any of his books.
