i'm getting ready to register for spring classes. i'm trying to decide what classes to take. between micro and a&p2 which one is harder? i've already taken a&p2 this semester and failed it. i don't know whether to retake it next semester or wait and take it later and just take micro with the rest of the classes i'm taking. the other classes i'm taking are math review for nurses and reading review for nurses. my husband thinks that i should maybe go ahead and retake a&p2 next semester. he thinks that cause what if i take micro and fail it then i've got both micro and a&p2 to retake and i definitly don't want to take both at the same time.

My guess would be to take A&P 2 again while anything you learned in the class might still be fresh. Be careful though! I'm not sure if it is for all colleges, but if you fail or withdraw from a class twice, then you will no longer be accepted to a nursing program for UP TO 10 years. That is how long it takes for your transcripts to "re-set". I would try to figure out why you failed. If it was just purely lack of effort, then perhaps retake it now AND BE SURE TO PASS! Or, take micro now and dig into why you failed in the first place before you attempt the class again. I'm pretty sure you only have one more shot at the class. :uhoh21: Check with your Nursing department to make sure. Perhaps a tutor is your answer. Good luck.

I have to take both in the spring...so i guess it doesn't matter for me:uhoh3:....I've heard the micro teacher is very hard at my university. I love my AnP prof so AnP 2 will be challenging but fun. As subjects in general, im not too sure which is harder, probably depends on the prof.

by all means take ap2 while it is still fresh in your mind and ace it! they are both equally as hard but in different ways, they both require a tremendous amount of work.

I'm almost done with micro and advanced physiology. I've had an easier time with micro.

I have only taken A&P I, but I know A&P was harder than microbiology for me... maybe because I enjoyed micro more..

A&P II was harder than Micro for me. But, like the previous post said, it was prolly because I enjoyed micro a lot more than A&PII !

I took APII along with micro last spring. Micro was extremely difficult for me because there was a lot of work. We had to write papers during our spring break along with one toward the end of the semester. Not fun!
APII wasn't so bad because my instructor was very generous with grading stuff. We had to dissect a cat and know all the bones and muscles which was kind of hard, but I'm glad it's over with.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do. If I were you I'd probably just take APII right now and worry about micro at another time since you have the basic knowledge down of that course. Chances are you'll do excellent the next semester since you will know the format of the tests and what's expected of you to know.

I'd take A&P II while it's still fresh. Good luck.

Definitely take A&P 2. You learn about the different body systems in A&P 2, and it'll make things easier for Micro

Firstly, Micro is easier for most people since it is very interesting. I have yet to meet a single person who didn't enjoy Micro...and enjoying a class makes it fun and smooth.
However, I agree with everyone above who says to take AnP 2 while it is still fresh on your mind.
And not to be harsh or anything, but if you fail AnP 2 twice then I'd just find another career. The nursing program is SO much more difficult...and if you haven't figured out AnP well enough to pass it when taking it the second time, you will probably not make it in the nursing program. Consider AnP the basics, because that is what it is...merely a foundation on which you will build MUCH more difficult concepts.
I agree with the person above who said to figure out where you went wrong and why you failed it. This is something that you need to fix now, so you don't waste any time and effort just to get booted out of a nursing program.
Again, not trying to be mean, just being honest. If you want any tips on study habits or note strategies feel free to IM or e-mail me.
Best of luck and hope you get this sorted out.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Multicollinearity and I did not enjoy micro.
I also found micro to be more difficult than A&P. I know I'm not alone, because I talked with several classmates the other day who were traumatized by their micro final exam as the final was 10 pages long (yes ten pages!) and they say they had to study far more with micro than with A&P.
In my experience, micro had more of a hard science focus compared to the simple rote memorization of A&P. My A&P classes were easy compared to micro.
