:redbeatheOkay MCC hopefuls, we are under the 45 day mark. Hopefully within 30 days we will at least have our ranking!!:redbeathe
42 days until letter day.....how are you feeling?
BTW, knowing that those letters are coming soon had me up until 3am last night. I was excited, scared, nervous, anxious, keeping my eye to the future.... wow... So maybe tonight I'll be so exhausted I will just fall alseep.
I tell you nerves are an excellent diet supplement. Hoping to lose 2-3 pounds in the next few days! LOL.
Good Luck to everyone! Get out there today and enjoy the beautiful day. I am about to go study outside for my test (does happy dance!).
PBid, I was accept to the same programs as you! Plus I am waiting to hear about the RN also. But I figure that I am going to go for the ST, give them the 100.00 and then if God willing I get into the RN, I will transfer that over. Thanks MichyMich for the info.Congratulations on getting accepted to the programs.
Pany1,
Congratualtions to you also.:yeah:I will most likely choose RT.
No problem! The programs I got accepted to were PTA and OTA. RN over PTA and PTA over OTA. If that makes any sense! LOL.I'm just in complete awe, shock... I just can't describe it. I can't wait to get our acceptance letters into the RN program. I'm so ready, but it seems almost surreal doesn't it.... All this work up and it's almost here!
And panky1, congrats to you too!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is nice to know that the money will transfer and we should know something soon!
Shannonmarie... thank you for your congrats! I basically am in a situation in my life where things either have to change and move forward or I'm going to get ran all over. So, having Plan B and Plan C there helped me to feel relieved in a way that I will bet able to move forward. I know there are several people in the same situation as I am, and I do feel both blessed and honored that I am able to do something I finally want to do in life and that it is something I can be secure in.
Michymich,
I meant PTA. I feel the same way, I really need to get plugged into a program. Which program do you think you will go with for your inital deposit:)
Panky1, Why ST over RT
Shannonmarie,
My heart just breaks for you. Maybe you weren't supposed to have a plan B. You lot in life is to be a nurse no matter what. I really have enjoyed all your posts!! You Rock too:)
I don't know which way yet....LOL One minute I am thinking ST and then next minute I am thinking RT...I have a lot of thinking to do over the weekend. Well at work I have will have to think about it. I don't know if I am cut out for the phlem and such with RT. I love the inside of the body, if that makes any sense? I just don't know....tell me why you are choosing RT over ST...maybe that will help me decide better. LOL
Awwww thanks. I guess I did have a plan B in a way with Macomb. I just hope that Baker works out for me either in the Fall or next Spring. At least I know that next year I can apply to more than 1 program at MCC.
My hubby keeps telling me that there is no rush, so I guess I can look at it if I am denied I get one more year at home with my daughter, so that is something to be happy about. Well, most days anyways, she can be a little terror sometimes....lol.
Shannon you do rock girl! I too agree with the others. I sincerely wish you the best. If anything you found out that you can apply to more than program in the future. That is a good thing and your hubby sounds supportive of your pursuits, and that makes a huge difference.
Pbid....
First choice of course is RN. Then it would be PTA. My grandmother was ill for some time, and had a trach tube. For about 3 years we constantly would help suction her. This is why I can't do RT. I had a heck of a time holding it together when I suctioned her. I loved her to pieces and that is what brought me through. So, I'm not a phelm person. LOL. That should not hold one back though. I was much MORE fascinated with the odd staph infection and surgeries, etc. that she had. Could look at blood, guts, etc. no problem. The minute the phelm had to come out... I was having some issues. LOL.
ST... I pee like every 10 minutes... LOL. That wouldn't be good if I had to be in a 6 hour surgery. Although the thought of seeing operations really is fascinating to me! That would be something cool to me.
PTA, my second choice. I am pretty active and I'm training for a 1/2 marathon, and Triathalon. I just LIKE that kind of stuff also. I also participated in my grandmothers PT all the time. Getting someone motivated and seeing their will and strength to overcome is pretty amazing stuff too.
RN, my first choice. First, I love people, I love all the details held within being a nurse, I love the fact that I would be able to positively effect someone's life or help their family get through unfortunate circumstances. I want to feel like my life on this planet was doing something I love and that has the ability to provide such an impact. I am pondering continuing my education and becoming a Nurse Practitioner.
Whatever program, I am chosing to go in with eyes wide open, not to be too quick to judge the experience, rather let me see each experience for what it's worth. Positive or Negative. I have some pre-convieved notions about what I would like to do, but until I really give that experience a shot, how will I know.
Also, those of you pondering... go with your gut. That inner voice is always right!
Man, by now I would be done with my first printing of this book I just wrote, eh? LOL.
Shannon best of luck to you. I had a similar situation happen to me my first time applying to SC4's program, they told me what classes they would take and my gpa, then months later I get a letter saying they took an English class I never withdrew from had an E in (I was pregnant with my son just kind of an idiot move on my part, I was told obviously they wouldn't transfer those credits (since I had none with a zero) but they used it against my GPA, lesson learned, retook that class and I was able to be home for my daughters last year of preschool and once I got over my initial disappointment, realized not to take for granted that last year with my daughter, now they are both in school all day and I am so ready to be busy with school without as many daycare worries and also found out more about SC4 and am glad I decided to pursue Macomb (where I took all my prereqs) took one class at SC4, wasn't impressed). Hopefully Baker or Macomb will work out for you next year (if they look at just the prereq GPA) I kind of agree with the person whose comment was maybe you weren't meant to have a backup plan and RN is your destination! Btw congrats to everyone on your acceptance to other programs! Hope you won't need them!
Its finally our week to stalk the mailman! How anxious is everyone??!! I just want to finally know!!!!!
Saying I'm anxious is an understatement! I really have been having problems sleeping because I'm all those different emotions wrapped into one. I have an A&P test tomorrow, so I've been studying for that and it's keeping my mind off. Also, yesterday I had to go to the hospital because a friend just had their baby. I was so excited for her of course, but I was walking around the hospital going... "OMG, it's almost here! I will know if this is my destination soon!" Kinda unbelieveable!
But, now that I know what the letters look like and that a thicker envelope seems to be the better one, I'm just all tied up! LOL.
Does it almost seem surreal to anyone? Ladies and Gents, I am keeping positive thoughts for you all, and hoping we get to meet up soon at the orientation! Hopefully! Yeah! Good Luck!!!!!
Mich,
Good luck on that test. Taking tests is so much harder when your not sleeping good. Hopefully we will all get a good nights sleep soon.
OK. I admit it. Even though it's Monday and I know we won't be getting letters today I am waiting impatiently for that mailman. I will also be checking this post constantly to see when the first person recieves a letter so I will KNOW it's time to get out to the mailbox.
Best of luck to everyone!!!

Thanks Deb! I'm trying to also focus on studying, but the partial pressures of carbon dioxide are just not as fun as "mailman watch 2009!". LOL.
I too will keep my eyes to this site for the first receiver of the letter. For the Confirmation letters, gemberly my was impetus to go to the mailbox! Yeah!
So, I'm a dork and I have a playlist on my ipod to keep me positive (not that you all want to know... LOL. But the positive songs are helping. You can just sing at the top of your lungs (stay about 10 blocks away from me) an get that anxiety out. LOL:
Don't Stop Believing (that the letter is coming soon0 - Journey
One Step at A time (running other in that sequence to the mailbox and you will fall)- Jordin Sparks
Blessed and Keeps Getting Better - Christina Aguilera
Till I Collapse (from sheer exhausting waiting) and Loose Yourself (in your mailbox) - Eminem
Unwritten (hopefully the lettes aren't)- Natasha Bedinfield
Green Light (Ready to Go Right Now) - John Legend
Let's Get it Started - Black Eyed Peas
Rocky Theme Song (LOL) - I'm training with the song, opening and closing the mailbox and training intensely on ripping open letters.
What Cha Waiting for (MCC) by Gwen Stefani (LOL)
Speed of Sound (that's how fast I want the letter to come)- Coldplay
James Bond Theme Song - Moby (LOL... cause were like spies LOL)
Big Girls Don't cry (when the mailman hasn't arrived yet) - Fergi
