I paid 200 dollars for pvt

Published

I took the nclex this august 2015 and did the pvt, problem is i did it 30mins after my exam, i didnt know about the 24hr rule. They charged me 200 bucks. Is it certain that i have failed?

That makes perfect sense!

So pearson vue brought me to cc page and stupid me entered my cc and charge me $200. does that mean I didn't pass. took exam today

I just can't. Why can't all things PVT just go away?!

No one can tell you for certain. Every one goes to CC page. Wait for quick results or BoN results.

No, it means you were charged $200. If your state participates in quick results then get them. If not, then you just have to wait it out.

Even if they took 200 bucks? It was stupid of me to do pvt 30mins after my exam. Is there stilla chance lol

I did the PVT less than 30 minutes after the exam but got the good popup. You have to change the expiration date on your card to do the trick so you won't be charged if anything. People are going to tell you that the trick doesn't work but I can personally tell you that it was accurate for me. The first time I took the NCLEX it declined my CC and ended up failing which meant that Pearson tried to charge my card and I ended up failing. My second attempt I did the trick again switched the expiration date but got the good popup "Our records indicate..." Best bet is to wait for the quick results for the accurate results but you won't get that money refunded if you did indeed pass but best of luck and keep us updated.

Cambrose, some of what you've said here has been discussed in detail in this thread on other pages. In particular, changing your expiration date, and how it is possible to be charged anyway.

On multiple-page threads, it is good message board etiquette to read them in their entirety before responding.

Do any BTDTs before the August '14 change know if that old, faithful "delivery successful" indicator has gone away? Just curious.

I understand my apologies. I was replying as I reading. But i also did not see an update from the original poster after I read everything. And was only giving my personal opinion on the matter and did not mean any poor etiquette by doing so.

Delivery successful no longer exists. Results not available only refers to quick results so someone in CA will say "results not available" forever.

And yes changing expiration date is not effective in preventing a charge for any online service. As long as the account number is active, especially in an online transaction, a charge may be processed as people accidentally transcribe the wrong expiration date for an intended purchase. This is NOT a way to prevent a charge.

It has been addressed throughout the forum that the advice to change the expiration date in order to prevent a charge is a poor one. This is because while Pearson Vue typically does not accept credit cards with expired account numbers (as a means of protecting THEM, not YOU), they are under no obligation to refuse those payment submissions.

A business that takes an account that is expired takes on the risk that the account really IS no longer valid, and no money will be paid to them. HOWEVER, if the account IS valid (the card is good, regardless of what the date says), then they can and most certainly DO push that charge right through.

The reason people become so testy after seeing the countless "it worked for me right after the test, all you have to do is THIS...." posts, is that WE ALSO SEE the posts and PMs of people who got charged for registrations they will never use because they PASSED. For people who were so unable to control themselves that they waited 30 minutes to do the PVT, had a test that was "on the fence" so to speak, and at THAT MOMENT it was a fail. They either got charged, or a card declined message. But AFTER that, during the time the candidate should have SAT ON HIS HANDS AND WAITED, the QA review determined the test to be a 'pass' and the person now is either out $200 or had only been freaking out for days or weeks because they thought they failed (based on the stupidity of a knee-jerk PVT submission immediately after they tested).

See the problem coming to bear?

No worries! I noticed the OP hasn't been back, too. Whenever this happens on these PVT threads, I always wonder if it's because they did not pass and don't want to blast it to the world. :( I hope I'm wrong.
