I spent 2 days working on some study questions for a quiz today. I had 6 pages for 8 questions. I REALLY went all out to make sure I had everything I could possibly need for those questions.
Ok, I went to class tonight to take my "Study Questions Quiz" and it didn't have ANYTHING to do with the study questions!!!!!! :angryfire :angryfire :angryfire
I understand that after a week of class I should have known the answers to the quiz, but I have spent most of my time trying to answer the study questions, write a 3 page report for the same class, and watch the video lectures.
I would assume someone would say maybe I am not summer school material, and I can't handle it. If that were true, then how could I have made an A in Microbiology in an 8 week course? (Most of the colleges in the DCCCD offer 10-week MicroSUX classes, not 8, and I think MicroSUX is much, much harder than A&P.
Another thing, the lab instructor is just there to babysit us. He doesn't have any say so on grading, testing, lab procedures, etc. NOTHING. He is mad as well. (He's a light-skinned white man, and his face was red!!!) lol
The school uses a lab manual copywrited in 1992, the statistics are all WAYYYYYY old. Per our lab instructor, the tests are the same tests that a Dr. XXXXXXX wrote, and that man has been retired for about 15 years!!!!
Oh well, I need to go study. Hopefully I can learn enough before I have to go take the lecture test Friday.
I'm not sure what kind of grade I'm going to make in this class....sure is hard to think after finishing 101% in A&P 1. Hopefully I'll still get right in to the RN program no matter what the grade.
Thanks for letting me vent! I feel better now.. :)

Sorry, you were lead in the wrong direction.:angryfire Hope your instructor can find someway to drop the misleading or wrong stats. Good Luck.:)

Hopefully you can learn this teachers style in the next week or two and have a better idea of how he/she tests so you can better prepare ( not that you weren't prepared but you know what I mean). I wish you lots of luck, I know you can do it! :)

Sorry to hear that. Good luck to you. :)
Thanks everyone. I stayed up until 3 AM and finished watching the lectures for the first exam.
Guess what? I "learned" some answers of questions on the quiz. uggggh
Anyway, I'm up and at it this morning, ready to study some more. :)
You go girl, you can do it! :)

OK, more venting!!
We were supposed to go over the lymphatic system in lab. The school doesn't have slides to look at. The school doesn't have models to look at. Exactly WHAT are we suppose to learn from? Granted, if they don't have them, the obviously they won't have anything on the lab practical over it. This is not math class where no one cares what an triangle's angle degree is! .....I want to learn about the human body. I am interested in learning and seeing things! This school is such a JOKE!
Luckily we are on week two of a 5 week course, and I have until week 4 to drop. I'll know if I can pull off a decent grade by then. (Sucks thinking I have made A's in the last 5 classes, and this one may not be just because of the school's lack of organization, etc.!!) GRRRRRRRRRRR!

We didn't have much to look at when we did lymphatic either. We had a PICTURE of what a node would look like under the microscope that we had to label, we had a couple slides of the spleen, we had to know what drained where and what a lacteal was...and to identify tonsils. I'm dead serious that's all there was to our lab portion on lymphatic....there were no models - not even of the spleen. But it's really the only section that my school has been lacking in stuff for.

Wow! That really sucks! Lymphatic/Immune System was my favorite chapter from A&P1. We had three or so labs..one solely geared around allergy testing and reactions to antihistamines, one about HIV and T/B/NK Cells and then the standard microscope/slides lab. There were a few tissues that were on our practical exam, but if you didn't review them in class then there is no way they will be on yours.
If your notes are inadequate, let me know..Our professor has all of our chapter outlines on the internet. You just have to fill some stuff in.
Also, for practice..here are our practice quizzes..I think there is a link to the answers on the bottom. Good luck!

BoonersMom: I guess I wouldn't be so upset about if it all the other crud wasn't going on as well, or if it wasn't stated in our lab manual that we needed to view slides, models, etc. (Like I said before, the lab manual was written by a retired professor from that campus.). I just can't believe that the DCCCD has this problem. I've never had any problems like this with the other 3 DCCCD campuses. I just feel that I won't learn as much as I should.
Nikki422: Thanks so much. I'm printing out the quizzes, and looking up the answers. Hopefully, they will help a bunch! :)

So not cool. You have very good grades, so next time make sure to keep asking what should you study. best of luck to you :)
Thanks, I'm hoping I can study enough on my own to pull it off...sure not going to get anything besides a waste of time going in for the lab.
