I left for lunch, handed my keys to the other nurse on the floor. I was unable to go back due to a family emergency. I signed out all medications administered in LTC program, including a few narcotics. This system is legal binding and my meds were signed out. The DON sent a text message stating if I did not go back to facility that night and sign out a few narcotics in a paper notebook used to count for shift change, that I no longer would have a job. I take that text as her firing me. She is still calling me and texting me to come sign out a few narcotics in this paper book.

I would suggest you do so unless you want to get reported to the BON. Why would you not?

I don't understand much of your post - what is a legal binding system? Is the DON asking you to falsify records or just fill out a paper duplicate?
If she's not asking anything illegal, why not just do it?

Are you asked to sign the narcotics that you did not give? If not why you refuse to do it?

Last time I was threatened with being reported to the BON, I said adios! They clearly didn't respect nor value me.
Are you saying that you legally signed the narcs out in the MAR, but not on the facilities narc sheet that is kept for their own records? You should have signed it, and still should even if at a later date, but it's not a reportable offence if you did in fact sign the MAR. Can they fire you? Yes. Dumb reason to though, and I would question the real reason they want me gone.

Just go in and see what needs to be signed, check and see if it was you and either sign or not. Let the DON know what you didn't sign and why on those you don't sign. One thing we have to remember is that these things need to be completed for state survey. While they may be signed for on the MAR, they still need to be signed for on the Narcotic Count Sheet.
To me it sounds like you wanted to leave this place. She did not fire you, you decided to not go in and do what was asked so you pretty much quit.

I guess I am confused. Were these just sign in/sign out sheets or the actual narc sheet that you count with and sign out each individual pill? If its the latter than it is important you go in and sign as soon as you can. Although the sign in/sign out sheet is important it could wait a few days. Unless state is there.

So now you're at great risk for being reported to the board and then having a mark on your license that will mention controlled substances, along with years worth of random drug tests that you have to pay for and during this time you can't even have a sip of wine on your birthday or use mouthwash with alcohol in it. The mark never goes away. What is your question and how can we help? I would go in and sign it if I were you.
