"I am pleased to inform you that you have been admitted to The University of Akron Graduate School. A formal letter of admission has been mailed to you reflecting your admit status, as well as any additional requirements that may have been placed on your admission (i.e. requests for final transcripts, degree conferral, English proficiency etc.). It is important that you read this letter thoroughly and fulfill all contingencies listed. "
.................No interview? I'm in, just like that? Akron's a pretty good school....it kind of surprises me.....anyone have any words of wisdom?

UH.....I would call the school........That is a bit out of the norm.... maybe that is the way they do things, but I would check on that if I were you.....

My take is that you have been accepted. I highly suugest you give the school a call and ask all the questions you may have. They will clarify much better that we can speculate.
Congradulations.

Probably a two step admission process, first acceptance to Graduate school and then you need to get accepted into the Graduate school of Nursing, Anesthesia....I would call the School of Nurse Anesthesia for info at this point and see if they have your application yet or if you need to fill out another appl to the Anesthesia school. Good luck.

I glanced at the website to see what I could find out with about 2 min of research. If you are granted an interview it will be in October. I am also willing to bet that if there are any contingencies on the Graduate acceptance they will need to be clear up before they will interview you. Hopefully there are none and you will get your interview. Again, good luck.

Did you have to apply to both the graduate school and the CRNA program? With some of the programs you have to do 2 applications or 2 steps. Perhaps the graduate school has accepted you into the school but you have not yet been accepted as a CRNA student.
I do see on the application page it says once accepted into the College of Nursing Graduate program, candidates may interview for the Graduate Nurse Anesthesia program in October. So maybe you have the first part done, but not the second.
I'd call and clarify.

My take is that you have been accepted to the Graduate School BUT it is likely that the does NOT mean acceptance to the anesthesia program itself. Previously posters have it right- call and find out for sure but be prepared for the above scenario. At some institutions admissions for Graduate School and Program are separate. Good Luck

When I applied to my school, I also had to submit an application to the university that my school is affiliated with. I'm guessing that is what your acceptance letter is dealing with. I could be wrong, but I don't think there is a school of anesthesia out there that will admit anyone without any type of interview. I agree with the previous posters that a phone call to the school will clear this up. Good luck!

I think the word is out...they know if they don't grab you, some evil med school will and the nursing world will lose you forever...
darn smart school, I would say.....

I agree with the two part process. Most programs need to have you admitted in general to graduate school prior to be considered for your specific interest of study. I would also think that it would be unlikely that any program would simply bypass the interview.

I got the same letter from the University of Akron. We have just completed one of the many hurdles to the reach the final destination. The next obstacle is to be invited to attend the interview session in October and then in December the notifications are sent to those who are admitted into the program
Hope that answers any questions....good luck!
Yea I called them and thats the case - its just general acceptance into the graduate program; still got to go through the interview
