I shared it with a couple nurse colleagues and they suggested I share it here. I hope you like it.
Thank you for excellent share of your story Dr. Green. Funny this reminded me of the movie (also book) gifted; story of Dr. Ben Carson in which he performs hemispherectomy for seizure pediatric patient but I assume 13 is too old for that procedure also reminded me of the ER doctor whose picture was taken shortly after losing 19yr old at ER, it's viral so sure you saw the picture. Again, thank you.
Thank you.I was fascinated by the book, The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down: A Hmong Child, Her American Doctors, and the Collision of Two Cultures.
I read that book when I was in high school and again years later as an experienced nurse. Great story and I was surprised at how different my take was on it both times.
Loved the story linked in the OP. Powerful writing. I'll be following your website and hope to see more.
Lost a patient last night I was quite close to after spending my last two shifts fighting desperately to bring him back from the cusp of death and the last several months getting to know him, so I'm just a touch emotional already.
