Human Anatomy / A&P I Club for Fall 2007

Published

I'm starting human anatomy next week, and would love to get a sticky started to keep each other sane. I'm a bit nervous about starting this class, as I really need an A, but work full-time and will also be taking abnormal psych. It's going to be a lot of work! :uhoh3:

Let's help each other out through this forum! :welcome:

So, when are you starting, where are you taking it, and how are you feeling?

I would just like to report that I got 101% on my first Anatomy exam. The girls I know that had taken and failed the class last year had me so worried that I studied a lot and ended up doing excellent! Thanks so much for everyone's support!

Specializes in ICU.

So far, so good. Got a 91% on the first exam (was really tough for me, since it covered ALL of cellular Bio, a prereq which I had not taken--had to learn it all, plus 3 other chapters in a week!).

Just heard that I got 110% on this week's lab test (tissue IDs and the skeleton)!!!! :) :) :)

Just put in my app for the PT ADN program yesterday that I plan to attend--will hopefully hear back in a month that I've been accepted (I've fulfilled all their requirements)... I'm REALLY doing this!!

This was my favorite site for learning the bones and their parts

This is not the college I go to, but I stumbled onto this. Its helped me alot!

Yeah!!!I just got my score from the first exam. 96, I was so nervous about this exam first 7 chapters this includes all the bones. I breath for a day or so then move onto the muscles:monkeydance::monkeydance:

Specializes in Emergency Nursing.

We have our lecture midterm next week...anyone else shakin' in their boots?

Specializes in Wannabe NICU Nurse.

I just had midterms this past week, I got a 98, on my lab practical, waiting for results on my lecture exam that I took Thursday. My first test I got a 90, if I get an 'A' on this one I only have two more to hopefully ace, and I won't have to take the final, good luck everyone, study hard!!:monkeydance:

I am having a tough time with A&P I; I did okay on the very first test with an 88%, my confidence soared and I thought I knew the material, but the second test made me realize that I don't know as much as I thought; I plummeted with a 63%...where did I go wrong? please help!

It's okay! What did you have trouble on, and what was your test over? Our second test was over cellular metabolism, tissues, and the intugementary system. Maybe I can help you out a bit...

So who is having fun yet?? We have already dissected the sheep brain and the cow eyeball (which was awesome)... Does anyone know any good tips or secrets to memorizing the cranial and spinal nerves and all that goes with that stuff. I feel like my brain is too full and I cannot remember one more big word if I tried. :uhoh3:

Modelmama thank you for taking an interest in helping me. Our second test covered 4 chapters consisting of Cell structure & function; Tissues; Integumentary System; and the Skeletal System.

Specializes in acute care.

Don't feel bad, I had a lot of trouble with the tissues as well..She shouldn't have combined all those topics. The topics for my first exam (haven't gotten the results yet) were cell structure and function, and those darn tissues...now we are doing the integumentary system and will soon start the skeletal system....the integumentary system is much easier for me

faith1128 - I would try to take a step back and look at your study habits. Are you devoting enough time to it? If yes, then look at HOW you are approaching it - this is my second time around in college, and something that I have really learned is how to study effectively. If I know it, or think I basically understand it, I skip it and move on to something that I am still not grasping. I put every single thing on flashcards - for the histo/integument stuff, I drew every tissue on a flashcard, and then numbered everything and wrote the answers on the back. Skeletal, I printed off pics from the internet and also drew flashcards - this way, if you have 5 minutes while you are waiting for an appt, or 20 minutes during your lunchbreak, you can just pull the flashcards out of your purse and look them over. Constant repetition is key for A&P, in my opinion.

I hope those ideas help a bit... From your first test score, it's obvious that you have the ability to do well in the class, you just need to find your own study style and then spend as much of your free time as possible doing it!
