HRSA 2021-2022

Updated:   Published

I haven't seen anyone start a thread about applying for this year's HRSA scholarships. I am waiting to see if I am accepted into a school in IL (fingers crossed!) and then I am going to start my application process for HRSA. The program I am applying to is a 16 months ABSN that starts in august! what about you all?

Have you been accepted some where yet? Still in the application process? Already started the Scholarship application?

I got a finalist email and didn't receive a credit check yet so don't be discouraged.

I GOT MY FINALIST EMAIL TODAY GUYS! I told y'all to keep the faith. I never received a credit check. They sent me two emails back to back. I am so happy right now and sending everyone else waiting good vibes. If you submitted your app at the last minute, be patient, they'll get to you.

This is on page 25 of the Nurse Corps guidance document. I would contact them regarding the geographical area because I'm in Montana where it's super rural and I'm seeing the geographical areas too. I think it has to be a designated DSH hospital for it to count.

I'll have to contact them, but this is very interesting because for state psych hospitals (under public) they specify that you have to use the facility HPSA and that population/geographic HPSAs cannot be used.

I looked at the areas on there last night and boy, when they say rural, they mean rural! I'm OK with moving, but I think a lot of us were thinking that the hospitals would still be somewhat local but that may not be the case.

I'm looking more into the HPSP program, but I'm a direct entry MSN-RN generalist program. My degree isn't listed in the drop-down menu, has anyone in this forum applied as an MS nursing student (besides psychiatric mental health specialties) who received the scholarship?

I think they have a preference for psych and women's health/midwives. I think the other MSN's are in tier 2 and they only have been able to reach tier 1 applicants in the past (ex: CRNA). It's in the information guide for this year. It probably has to do with the need for psych/women's health nursing.

Quick question, if you have been requested to resend in a document for The finalist paperwork, will they update the paper work in the system automatically or how does that work? Because I was asked via email  today to resend the W4 form but I haven’t received anything after sending the document back.
