2013-2014 HRSA Nursing Scholarship Program

I know it is entirely too early but I wanted to get a thread going for all of you who are planning to apply for the NSP this upcoming year. I know it is becoming more and more popular and there are always questions and people wanting to share experiences and such so I hope this thread will become helpful! I have signed up to get the alert for when the application is available for the 2013-2014 FY and hope to meet others who will be applying as well.

Got this from their Facebook page after sending them a message regarding the confusing awarding messages:

NURSE Corps

Hi, NURSE Corps Scholarship Program is in the process of updating the portal website to accurately show award status. This update may take two weeks to implement which is why we state that you may not receive official notification of award until August 31st. However, if you have received an award letter and signed the contract then you can expect that you have officially been awarded the scholarship and will receive the official notification shortly.

so are we thinking the people that have not receive any word most likely did not receive the scholarship

Site is going down for maintenance on Thursday, hopefully something will be updated after. Does anyone know when they say "official award letters" do that mean for those "in final review" as well?

From what I've read, this is what the timeline sounds like to me: I believe they mean that those who have gotten the "congratulations" email will be officially notified by the end of August. They may make further awards in September, depending on people deciding whether or not to accept the scholarship. Rejection letters go out at the end of September, I think? It's hard to be sure.
