2013-2014 HRSA Nursing Scholarship Program

I know it is entirely too early but I wanted to get a thread going for all of you who are planning to apply for the NSP this upcoming year. I know it is becoming more and more popular and there are always questions and people wanting to share experiences and such so I hope this thread will become helpful! I have signed up to get the alert for when the application is available for the 2013-2014 FY and hope to meet others who will be applying as well.

why on the weekends? You would think that the Govt wouldnt send anything out on the weekends. All this waiting is making me crazy. I am a nervous wreck. My classes start on the 26th and I cant afford the books for them if I do not get this Scholarship. I only have enough Aid for this semester and Only for the classes not for the books. I am praying and hoping that we hear something soon. I emailed them and they said that if we are o longer inder review it will say that on our site.. It will say "Not awarded" has it always taken this long? I work with someone who said they got their official paperwork on the 11th last year. Good Luck to everyone! And please if you hear something...Post on here so that we all know so we can be aware either way for our nerves! THANKS

The 11th of September last year? I don't why he would've told me to check emails on the weekend unless they tend to send out notifications at the end of the week, maybe?

I had something posted before that I got from a reviewer that wasn't too positive even though mine says "under review" but I am just going to pretend I didn't read what he wrote and continue to have faith. It ain't over until He says so.

where was the post from the reviewer? Is it on our site? Wondering if I have anything posted by a reviewer. The wait is driving me crazy! And my coworker heard August 11th when he got award.

august 11 is when he heard. But he got his a couple years ago. Not last year.

My status still says under review. I can empathise with you as my classes also start on the 26th. We juggled some stuff around and I was able to make a payment on my schools mandatory payment plan. It is really tight but I remain hopeful.

I called again was told that the deadline to receive the award is by the 31st for those who have been awarded but by September everyone who hasn't been awarded will be notified.. Agent told there is a possibility that they may still notice awardees after the 31st but not guaranteed. So by this timd there still a small chance I can get it but I'm not going to dwell on it so if I get it great and if I don't then it wasn't my turn. Congrats to those who got it. And hopefully for those still waiting dont give up hope there is still a small chance to get in.

I just found out I need a little over $2,000 of dental work done. Praying that God sees fit to bless me with this. I'm still "Under Review."

Has anyone who received the finalist e-mail actually gotten word that they've been approved for the scholarship? I got the finalist e-mail more than a month ago, and since then, I haven't heard anything. Nobody I talk to at the Customer Service Center can tell me anything, either, and I need to pay my tuition soon. Anybody in the same boat?
