HRSA Nurse Corps Scholarship 2020-2021

I havent seen a thread yet on this year's nurse corps application cycle & my anxiety has made me start one. I'm finishing up my application and should be done with it by today. I know its extremely competitive so honestly I dont think I'll get it but its worth a try! Who else has applied/is applying?

for those whose received a counter signature, were you notified with a email or did you keep checking your contract?

Just kept checking the contract. There was so email update.

Sorry, typo. There was *no email update. I believe everyone has just been checking the contract and scrolling to the bottom to see.

Did anyone receive a finalist award for the NHSC Scholarship?  I applied to both the Nurse Corps and the NHSC Scholarships and now my Nurse Corps app has been automatically withdrawn after receiving my finalist notification for NHSC.  I'm assuming since I'm a finalist, have submitted the requested paperwork, and signed the contract, that means I will get the award?  My profile currently reads:

Your overall application status is: Accepted Award - Under Final Review

Has anyone who received either the Nurse Corps or the NHSC Scholarship gotten any further than that or have a timeline on when money will be distributed?  I have to pay tuition next week and assume I will be using student loans for my first semester if something doesn't come through soon. 

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi! I only applied to Nurse Corps but I read on past forums that if you’re selected as a finalist for one (when you’ve applied to both programs) and you submit all your info, that you are no longer eligible for the other. As a finalist of the nurse corps my portal says something similar - finalist under final review (I think- I’m not logged in right now). For nurse corps the award can be distributed up to September 30th as the federal fiscal year ends the 31st. It also says that you’re not guaranteed an award in case they run out of funds. There is a clause in the contract about Congress being able to defund the program, I’d assume the NHSC program has it as well as most grant projects have this clause. Last year people received award letters on September 26th. I had to pay for my tuition upfront too. Hopefully we find out something soon! Goodluck!

Hey guys! I was notified back in July that I was a finalist for the Nurse Corps Scholarship and I've been "under final review" since around then, but no signature on my contract.  I was hoping the website maintenance today would lead to some status change, but nothing changed for me.  Did anything change for y'all?

Nothing has changed for me but I did receive the signature on August 6th. Did you make sure you scrolled to the bottom of the contract and look under your electronic signature? That’s how it’ll be set up for their end.
