HRSA Nurse Corps Scholarship 2020-2021

I havent seen a thread yet on this year's nurse corps application cycle & my anxiety has made me start one. I'm finishing up my application and should be done with it by today. I know its extremely competitive so honestly I dont think I'll get it but its worth a try! Who else has applied/is applying?

I ended up deleting the prior PDFs, reloading the page, and then I saw the countersignature. And I didn't believe that I was seeing the right thing, so I went and logged in from an actual computer to verify. 

I believe I got the credit check and the finalist email on the same day in July. I got the counter signature on August 21st.

How did you delete the prior PDFs?

Nurse Corps will contact your school for invoicing. We definitely don't need to be the one initiating the process. You can always contact your Bursar for more information in regards to their end of the process.

Ugh now you have me worried! I received finalist notification on July 16th and my contract was countersigned August 7th. I just contacted my school’s bursar office however and they haven’t been notified for an invoice yet.

Don't stress!! I am a neurotic human, and I happen to have a good rapport with my bursar already. Nurse Corps will guide this process. They will tell your school when to send invoices. They will give you explicit instructions, just like they did with the application (they're a government agency. EVERYTHING gets spelled out!) Just hang tight and don't worry about missing a step at this point!

Thank youu for your reassurance. Last questions- Has HRSA reached out to you directly regarding next steps and does your portal still say under final review?

Does anyone know how they know what your "other reasonable costs" are and health insurance?  Is it an estimated amount that they give everyone or do we somehow submit this info?  I know these costs were not included in my tuition document I uploaded when I applied. Thanks!

What do you mean regarding health insurance? I wasn’t aware they pay it. I called healthcare.gov and since it’s taxable income they said it counts when determining any tax credits for health insurance premiums.

It is an estimate provided by your school. But it was also a document we were supposed to submit when we uploaded our applications.

Guys no one’s school is being contacted to give an invoice yet because none of us have gotten an email saying we are a participant. From previous years, a few people who had a counter signature didn’t get the official participant award. They haven’t finalized finances but as soon as they do, I’m sure they’ll start giving official award offers. There are a handful of clauses that say “this is not a guarantee of award” at the finalist stage, so there’s nothing we can do except just wait and hope for the best! Nothing else happens until they start sending out official offers.

I hesitated saying anything about contacting my bursar, because I did not want to create a *** storm. Should have listened to my gut instincts!

I have heard NOTHING AT ALL from Nurse Corps since I received the email I was a finalist. I am still in final review. I have no award or money or guarantee of money. There is no action we are supposed to be taking. I don't know the next steps. I ain't got nothing else. Just hang tight. Word is coming THIS MONTH. Literally, in the next 4 weeks and 1 day, all questions and mysteries will be answered!!

It’s hard to read tone through a message board so I’m going to assume you’re just being factual. The fact is you literally mentioned that your school has been invoiced so I just asked for clarification because yes, I can read and have read the contract and do in fact work under a federal grant and know how they work. Therefore, I was surprised and uncertain of the meaning of your post. Good luck!
