HRSA Nurse Corps Scholarship 2020-2021

Published

I havent seen a thread yet on this year's nurse corps application cycle & my anxiety has made me start one. I'm finishing up my application and should be done with it by today. I know its extremely competitive so honestly I dont think I'll get it but its worth a try! Who else has applied/is applying?

I applied for the NHSC Scholarship & haven't heard anything. Received the credit check on 8/10, but nothing more.

Same here. Got a credit check from credco on 8/10. Status still says "under review" in my portal. I am going absolutely crazy! I guess just assuming its a bad sign at this point.

@aggienurse5215 (whoop!) I’m in the same position

So, I emailed my bursar last week after I discovered the signed copy of the contract. The bursar contacted BHW. Nurse Corps has been invoiced, and I was told they are taking about two weeks to pay out, soooooooo let's see what happens next! (I received the finalist email on July 17th.) It would be SUPER AWESOME if I could have cash in hand this time next week...

Hi there! did they contact your school first? I emailed my school but their response time is terrible. But I know a few people were notified that they contacted the school. I’m the same time line as you so fingers crossed for the both of us!

Did you guys get a "credit check" before or after the finalist email? or was it after your contract was signed by HRSA?

Ahh I’m getting really discouraged. I got my finalist notification the first day they sent them out but still no countersignature. It sounds like bad news, but I’m trying to stay optimistic

I definitely don't want to give you false hope, but I originally missed that I had a counter signature because I was checking from my cell phone, and it wasn't actually updating the PDF that I was looking at. I ended up deleting the prior PDFs, reloading the page, and then I saw the countersignature. And I didn't believe that I was seeing the right thing, so I went and logged in from an actual computer to verify.

I believe I got the credit check and the finalist email on the same day in July. I got the counter signature on August 21st.

If you don’t have a counter signature I wouldn’t get discouraged. From what I can gather, everybody who has a counter signature only got it on two days. The first batch and then the second a few Friday’s ago. I’m sure they have another round coming, they just do it in these random spurts. Obviously I don’t know for certain but it’s more encouraging as opposed to them randomly cojntersigning a few every day for a period of time. I’m sure they have a lot on their plate and will focus on the scholarship at least one more day before the deadline in a whole month!

Are we suppose to send an invoice to them or they will initiate for it themselves? If so, how do we do we find out if they did?

How/why did you already send them an invoice for tuition without being a participant?? And did they say they would pay it prior to you getting an official offer to being a participant?

Nurse Corps will contact your school for invoicing. We definitely don't need to be the one initiating the process. You can always contact your Bursar for more information in regards to their end of the process.
