HRSA Nurse Corps Scholarship 2020-2021

Published

I havent seen a thread yet on this year's nurse corps application cycle & my anxiety has made me start one. I'm finishing up my application and should be done with it by today. I know its extremely competitive so honestly I dont think I'll get it but its worth a try! Who else has applied/is applying?

The explanation of having different people going through them and tiering the applicants based on basic criteria first makes sense. . .but I most definitely meet the basic criteria so I guess I'm just still confused - my EFC is 0, single with 4 children, I'm half-way through a ABSN program with a 3.75 (nursing school is no joke, and especially during COVID!) and I have 20 years of experience volunteering including Americorps. I'm trying to remain positive, and I am truly happy for all you amazing students who have reached the first level - schooling is difficult to begin with but the added stress of financing your education and paying bills while in school just tops it off. Good luck all!

I mean, you sound like the ideal candidate to me! Keep your head up!

Hey all,

hope you have been staying safe and healthy!! I am a finalist for the program and now in the middle of figuring out W-4. Since the time I sent in my application to now, my address has changed..including the state. Does this mismatch raise a red flag for them? Since the scholarship is tax deductable and every state has different tax rates I am worried that the difference is addresses on my application and now on my W-4 will affect my standing. If anyone has any insight on this, please let me know! I did try to call them and the person I talked to didn't seem very sure about her answer. thank you :))

Hi,

I am new to this thread. I received a finalist email on July 16th. Supposedly I’m Tier 1. What tier is everyone else?

Congratulations! Where does it indicate what tier you are considered?

does anyone know when they stop accepting people?

I needed help with my forms and got in-touch with this lady who’s like a department head and she told me I’m in Tier 1.

Are you going for your bachelors? I think that’s what it was referred to in the guidance document, in which case I’m right there with ya!

I think they did it until the last week of August last year

September 30th is the final day!

questions for the finalists, I still have my application under review and no email. I’m just wondering what you guys have since you guys got the email? What is your status now?

Thank you for answering quick! I have my bachelors but not in nursing. I have a bachelors in health management that I obtain last year in December. So this will be my second bachelors degree. My EFC is 0. I do not qualify for FAFSA. I’m a mom to 3 kids all under 5 years old and my youngest is 5 months. I just don’t know what to do! ? I have no choice but to apply for a federal loan and private loan. I start nursing school in 13 days. If I didn’t get it.... then I would like to know NOW so I can put my anticipation to rest. I feel like it’s a lottery application. Does anyone think so?

Definitely not a lottery application
