What are some of the names you've heard pts. name their babies that you liked?
(I'll add my own later, i need to check on the spelling of two of them)
I love the names CHLOE, SOPHIE, GRACIE, EMILY AND RACHEL
My daughter's name is Makenzie, love that too, but it is becoming rather popular now
And, my son, (who is 10 and the twin to Makenzie), is named Madison which I found in the baby name book under boy names, thought it was nice and we have a family history of men named James Madison Whatever in my family so it was sort of a family name...anyway, all this to say now there are a million GIRLS named Madsion. But at last there is only one in his grade and there is actually another boy ayear older than him named Madison. He doens't seem to mind. My oldest son's name is Mason. I still love this name. I also like Max (does it seem like I like M's? ) Shane, and Jake.
My oldest daughter is 10 and the name Tristan was popular for boys. I liked it for a girl so I spelled it Tristin Jo. There are no other Tristin's in her class. My son is Logan Russell, which is very popular now, he is 4 and my baby girl is Jadyn Marie. All the middle names were after grandparents.
My favorites are traditional names too. My children are Jakob Brandon 10 yoa ( thought jakob was traditional and uncommon when i named him in 1996 and later that year it bumped micheal for #1, go figure:icon_roll :icon_roll )
Owen Manley 2 yoa( manley is a family name)
and Megan Aisling Grace 4mos. I wanted to include the name Aisling (ash-lee) because it was my favorite character from a book so she ended up with two middle names. :redpinkhe
My daughters are Miranda and Mikayla, I also like Alexis for a girl, We would've named Miranda Austin if she was a boy but my cousin beat me to it, my cousins' babies are also Devin and Chase, which I like. My best friends' sons are Ashton and Ethan, I like them although Ethan's becoming pretty common. Still looking for a M girl name for the baby I'm carrying. My husband likes Michelle, which I think is a little too common, My older daughter likes Melanie but my husband isn't crazy about it, I like Mackenzie, but my husband doesn't like it, I was thinking about changing Michelle a little and making it Michella (pronounced the same except the a at the end), but I wonder if people would spell it/pronounce it wrong. Tonya
I like my daughters name "Angelica". The funny thing is it seems that most people think of that awful kid show Rugrats. People will ask her if she is like the girl on the show (jokingly) or some other question related to the show and she has no clue what they are talking about because she has never watched it. :rollHer name was actually inspired by (not named after) Anjelica Huston as I was flipping through an entertainment weekly magazine years ago.
My niece has the most beautiful name ~ Caileen. I have never heard it before and I still haven't heard it, except for her.
My other niece due to be born next week (yay!) is going to be named Mea.
Mostly I like more traditional names. My DH and I were trying to think of boy's names but it seems all the boy names are already taken up in our family and friends. I really like the name Matthew but I had 2 friends that named their baby that last year.
If we have a girl we will name her Faith. It was easy with my baby boy because we took the easy way out and he is a junior. That would not have happened if my husband had a name we didn't like!
Imagine my surprise when I found a name I'd never heard of in a book about a redheaded Catholic girl when I was preggers and so named my little redhead Caitlin. I looked it up and found that this was the original spelling too. Of course there are Katelyns, Kaitlins, Caytlyns, etc., galore . . . poor kid changed her name to "Kate".
I like traditional names. I have Brian, Matthew and Daniel.
I also like Sam.
We have so many variations of Ashley, you are right Marie . . .Ashton, Ashtin (the kids call her "Ash Tin")
My niece is Isabella Frances. Another is Marah.

Ah-ha!
That's funny - in my family, we've always had a surplus of boys and everyone always wishes for a girl!
