What are some of the names you've heard pts. name their babies that you liked?
(I'll add my own later, i need to check on the spelling of two of them)
,Personally, I think the wierd spellings, hypenated names, and "made-up" names are just silly, and doom a child to mispronounced names and teasing in school, and possible bias later in the workplace.
Our family is fairly Irish, with some German and French, and we wanted simple masculine names for our sons that didn't lend themselves easily to obnoxious nicknames. So our guys are:
Glenn Thomas (middle name after his Dad)
Kevin Gordon (middle name after Granda)
and our one-and-only grandson..
Eion (pronounced Ian, its the Gaelic spelling) Thomas...
Loved Elizabeth, Katherine, Rebecca, Sarah, Colleen, and Rachel for girls..not that we HAVE any in the family, except the lovely ladies that marry in. My beautiful, sweet, and funny d-i-l is Pami, short for Pamra (not Pamela) and has a sister Tami (Tamra)..
I would name a daughter Aoibheann, Caoimhe or Caitlin (this one was my DD's name).I would name a boy Conor, Cailen, or Eamonn :)
Traditional Irish names :) Not the foolish catholic names commonly used.
I LOVE Eamonn to! That was the name of the priest who baptized me (my dad was an alter boy for him and also married my parents)............Eamonn McMorifice. He was definitely a cool guy.
Other irish names I like:
Boys: Ciaran, Aidan, Cillian, Cian, Niall
Girls: Moira, Dierdre, Sinead, Teagan
psalm, RN

I wanted to name my first son Hiram Wainwright (my husband was 5,000 miles away) but went with what we decided, Paul Bennett. Paul after a doctor friend I worked with in OB, and Bennett means happy. Our other son is Brian Joseph.
I always liked the names Garrett, Garrison, Charles (NOT Charlie), Forrest, Preston, and Craig.
For girls, I like Zoe (means life), Darci and Pearl...names of my dils, Wren, Precious, Song, Psalm (we knew a Psalm, but it was a guy!), Valerie, and Jael.
