Hi my fellow Nursing Students
I want to know how old were you when you started Nursing school. RN's and LPN's are welcome to answer.
I'm in my early 30's, married with three babies, ages five and under. I'm a little nervous and worried that I may have started a little late at following my dream to become a nurse.
Thanks everyone:D
I'm 36 now and will graduate with my BSN around my 38th birhday. I don't think I would have been a good nurse in my 20's...I was at a different place in my life, and was a different person. I think that there are certain qualities that I've always had, but now I'm more patient, grounded, and confident. My cousins girlfriend is 20 and going for her RN - and she's going to be a wonderful nurse. I guess we all have a different journey. Right now I know I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be!
I am similar to LaBella78 in that I got "comfortable" as well and have been scared to make changes. Now I'm terrified of not moving forward. I'm going to be 38 on the 27th. I start my ADN classes on the 23rd meaning I can still actually attain my goal of having my RN by age 40! I will then immediately continue on to get the BSN and hopefully have that by summer 2016 (Insert "fingers crossed" emoticon here). I have 2 kids: a 16 year old girl and an almost 4 year old boy as well as a semi-supportive husband.
I am very excited yet still scared about how to survive with one income .
I started nursing school at 18 right out of high school.
I am 41 now and though I have been an RN for 20 years, I feel like I got my "second wind" within the last year or so with a renewed desire and passion to be a nurse.
There was a time I thought I might leave the profession for good. Glad I didn't. There is still a lot of wind left in these sails! =-)
