How old were you when you started Nursing School?

Hi my fellow Nursing Students

I want to know how old were you when you started Nursing school. RN's and LPN's are welcome to answer.

I'm in my early 30's, married with three babies, ages five and under. I'm a little nervous and worried that I may have started a little late at following my dream to become a nurse.

Thanks everyone:D

I started when I was 26, will finish about a week after I turn 29. It's a 2 year program, but I had to take a semester off because I broke my leg.

I started nursing school at 21 and graduated earlier this year with my BSN at 23. Considering my circumstances, it was easiest to go for the goal right after high school. I was one of the youngest in my class of 130.

I'm starting Nursing school (ASN) in Januray, and am currently 22, recently married, no kids yet...but the student age ranges from that to even late 50s; so it's never too late! Don't feel any negativity about your age, if anything you might get more respect from instructors :)

I started pre-nursing at 45 and the nursing program at 46. I have 2 kids, 22 and 19, and figured if they're in college I might as well go back, too! I was an early childhood major many years ago and luckily everything (ENG, PSY, SOC, etc) transferred so all I needed was the science courses. I'll graduate a couple of weeks before my 48th birthday.

I'm 22 years old now and a new nurse =) with no children yet

I'm 45 and started in August. I will graduate in 2015 and then hopefully move on to my BSN and beyond. This is my second career and I started late in life. It's been a scary prospect and I'm the oldest one in the class, but you never know if you can do it if you don't try!

I will be 42 this October and by the grace of God, Allah Subhana watallah, I will start nursing school in January, 2014 and plan to continue for BSN.

Specializes in cardiac.

It is never too late. I was 20 when I graduated with my ASN and am enrolled now to obtain my BSN. I'm 30 with two kids, mortgage, full time RN...the works. It's totally doable.

I am 21 and have already started my first semester of nursing school :).

I am 46, started pre-req's when I was 43, 2 kids (12 & 16 now), divorced just before I started, 2 jobs and just began the ADN program. Will graduate in 2015 at the age of 48!

I am 37 in my 3rd week of my first semester in the nursing program. I am married with 4 kids. It's never too late and good luck to you!

I start next fall and will have just turned 19. I graduated high school a year early. I'll graduate a month before my 21st birthday. Kinda weird.
