I read on the forum that while it's forbidden for a nurse to have sex with their patient, I haven't seen anything about having sex with other nurses, doctors, visitors, etc. Does it actually happen as often as it does on TV shows? Not asking whether it's wrong or not, just whether it happens.
I'm sure it happens but people don't talk about it. I mean, I have a family member who used to be a nun, got involved with her priest, and ended up marrying him. They both left the church and nobody knew until they went public with it. That happened a long time ago.
I can't imagine wanting to have sex in a hospital, what with the germs, the body fluids, the rushing around, etc. Gross. I've had sex in some odd places but that's one place I wouldn't consider.

Jon & Kate Exploit 8 & American Idle are two shows that instantly come to mind.
Everyone needs a break, and for many television is their preference, which is fine. But there is also no doubt in my mind that television can really skew the "reality calibration" level in some folks.
The OP might have picked up a book, or a magazine, but I don't think it would've contained the subject matter you're thinking of. :uhoh21:
This thread may have run its course.
Please, do not post vivid descriptions about who is doing what to whom. Or links to articles with that same kind of information. This is a professional website. We ought to be able to discuss the concept without presenting all the gory details.
Thanks.

From a different person's perspective, you might be doing it wrong. If that is what it means to you, great! But it doesn't mean the same thing to everyone.life lesson>
Before nursing school, I worked at a place "where the magic happens" in Central Florida and the employees had a running competition on who could find the most creative way to "grab one" in as many of the different parks as possible. It is a family place and none of the visitors really know what is going on behind closed doors. Or in plain sight!
But a hospital or any area in the healthcare field is unacceptable. Like teaching (despite the apparently social tantamount-approval when it a woman abusing a young man...), it is a violation of trust.

I showed this thread to my wife and got some nervous chuckles from her and a few questions on how close I was to my fellow nursing students..and after telling her for the nth time that this thread depicted a "fantasy" that just didnt match reality.
