How often do nurses have sex in the hospital?

Published

I read on the forum that while it's forbidden for a nurse to have sex with their patient, I haven't seen anything about having sex with other nurses, doctors, visitors, etc. Does it actually happen as often as it does on TV shows? Not asking whether it's wrong or not, just whether it happens.

Oh, this is toooooo hysterical! I got to pee once and choked down a hurried dinner.

Good chuckles for this am - but as has been said, this behavior is totally unprofessional and degrades nurses to nth degree.

Well, never....

But where I work, we catch patients trying to have sex with each other ALL the time.

Absolutely not a joke.

Ok, fine, so it happens, it's just people who've done it probably don't want to talk about it. If even priests make the news with pedophilia scandals, how many of them must have had consensual sex with somebody from their congregation??? And I can't think of a less appropriate (and intimate) environment than that!

I wonder if doctors have more time to go naughty? Okay okay, I'll stop!

Sex happens less often than at other workplaces like the White House or Burger King. Are you nuts or what and WHY would you want to know? Go be curious about something a little more studious, curious student!!!! Obviously you need something a little more productive to do with your hands and mind on a Saturday morning.

seriously, this is not even worth answering...

You're right - but the absurdity of it even being asked is more than entertaining.

Allnurses.com, where you learn something new each time you log on!!!

I confess - I actually CHECKED this one, and I DID get that it's one of the definitions but I didn't glean that it was the strictest.

God, how bored was I last night??

What??? How old are you?

There are probably some nurses out there in the world somewhere who have had sex at work, just like there are probably some lawyers who have, but, are you serious?

What nurse has the time?

What nurse has the energy?

Geez, when I am at work, I would rather take a full 30 minute lunch and/or get a bathroom break!

You crack me up!

never happens where I work.....gee, maybe I'm missing out on all the excitement.

I am a old foreign nurse and I readed the thread and now I am totally confused...if THIS is happen here, so really I am not culturally adapted AT ALL!

Analyzing:

1. Sex means love....if is love, means take care of other....how the hell you grab one and go with her/him in the closet just like that...or conference room or whatever...is DIRESPECTFULL for the other person...so much more than no love is DIRESPECT!

An from where did you have time??? lol...

2. If sex means just sex at work place......then ...you can't control your self... so you become a danger for you and others and you can't stay in hospital....

3. A relation is developed in time.... don't need a closet to be hided...

everyone know about it...

Just my two cents....love need to be out of the closet always, no one will blame you if you fall in love, and if you are a decent one, living your love decently out of hospital closets, be decent, lol .....but always is a big shame for you for hospital for everyone if is "the sex is in the closet" and everyone has so much to loose on it, looool...and we need to educate somehow the nurses why sex without love is a big huge big ****!

Sorry, but...Celibacy is, in its strictest definition, the lifestyle of someone who is and is striving to remain unmarried all his/her life. However, the term is often popularly used to describe a state of life where one chooses to abstain from all sexual activities, which is strictly "continence"."

Here you go---from the New Advent website, which contains a Catholic encyclopedia: http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/03481a.htm

Quote
Celibacy is the renunciation of marriage implicitly or explicitly made, for the more perfect observance of chastity, by all those who receive the Sacrament of Orders in any of the higher grades. The character of this renunciation, as we shall see, is differently understood in the Eastern and in the Western Church. Speaking, for the moment, only of Western Christendom, the candidates for orders are solemnly warned by the bishop at the beginning of the ceremony regarding the gravity of the obligation which they are incurring. He tells them:

"You ought anxiously to consider again and again what sort of a burden this is which you are taking upon you of your own accord. Up to this you are free. You may still, if you choose, turn to the aims and desires of the world (licet vobis pro artitrio ad caecularia vota transire). But if you receive this order (of the subdiaconate) it will no longer be lawful to turn back from your purpose. You will be required to continue in the service of God, and with His assistance to observe chastity and to be bound for ever in the ministrations of the Altar, to serve who is to reign."

By stepping forward despite this warning, when invited to do so, and by co-operating in the rest of the ordination service, the candidate is understood to bind himself equivalently by a vow of chastity. He is henceforth unable to contract a valid marriage, and any serious transgression in the matter of this vow is not only a grievous sin in itself but incurs the additional guilt of sacrilege.

BTW, I don't think I've ever heard of a priest who broke his vows referred to as "incontinent." The only time I've heard that term used to describe a priest is if he has lost control of his bladder or bowels---not any other parts of the body.

Every day. Sometimes twice a day. When I'm not eating donuts, or diverting patient's narcotics, I am sexing up doctors and pharmacists.

There was a thread on allnurses ealier asking about nurses and sex on the job and 99% of the replies, including my own, staed in the negative...and then I found this

"A nurse in Great Britain has been arrested over claims she had a four-month fling with a violent rapist who was being held in a mental health ward at a British hospital.

Rhoda Makambaire, who is married with a child, was accused of having sex sessions with brutal Kelly Edney, 29. They allegedly had relations in the Berkshire, U.K., hospital's mental health ward - a section for patients who are deemed incurable or show no signs of remorse.

The rapist, who also has convictions for arson, assault and hoax bomb calls, allegedly told cops in explicit detail about his affair with Makambaire.

Another nurse was also arrested. She is accused of keeping watch as Edney and the mother of one had sex.

The nurses, both in their 30s, were questioned by cops under Britain's Sexual Offenses Act. They were suspended along with a third nurse who allegedly knew about the affair.

Edney was yesterday moved from Broadmoor to top-security Rampton hospital, in Notts, U.K."

Note to the OP:

If you truly believe that television & other media reflect reality on a regular basis...remember, television is ENTERTAINMENT. You might want to pick up a book / take a walk / listen to your favorite music.

Jon & Kate Exploit 8 & American Idle are two shows that instantly come to mind.

Everyone needs a break, and for many television is their preference, which is fine. But there is also no doubt in my mind that television can really skew the "reality calibration" level in some folks.
