I am curious to see which State pays the most money for an RN in Labor and Delivery. I will graduate in May and I start off at $20.50 in Ohio.
In Kansas City, MO, I make a base pay of $22.05 plus night shift diff of $3.50. I do not work week-ends other than taking call one night every 6 week schedule, another $3.00 per hour. I do not think it is nearly enough pay to compensate for all the emotional and physical stress that we go through on a "daily" basis!:heartbeat:heartbeat:redbeathe:redbeathe:heartbeat:heartbeat
I have a many questions for you guys. I am from Minnesota I go to Iowa State University and I am majoring in Kinesiology Community and Public health. when I graduate I want to be a midwife. I have so many question I do not know where to start but...What schools offer accelerated programs for people who already have a non nursing degree, How much does A nurse midwife make, and what school in Minnesota offer accelerated programs?
As you can see alot depends on where you are and the amount of experience you have. The SF $ sounds great but the cost of living is equally large : /. I am in FL, making $31/hr. Night diff is $5 duing the week, $6 on the w/e and of course there is call and call pay. Call pay is not much $2.50/hr but time and a half if you get called in.
I have my bachelor's and am new to nursing. I have been working in the rehab unit in a south florida hospital for 6 months but would like to eventually work as a obgyn nurse. I currently get paid $23/hr for the 12 day shift with an evening diff $3/hr. There is a $3/hr night diff, and a $3.50/hr weekend diff. FLOBRN how many years of experience do you have and is there a difference in pay as a new grad in a obgyn floor.
What are some pay rates for new nurses in the Minnesota/Wisconsin/Illinois areas, particularily big cities like Minneapolis, Chicago and Milwaukee? I've heard that it is about $21/hr according to some of those salary websites, but don't know how much I can trust them, and I don't want to be asking for too much on my applications!

Interesting to see how pay has changed in this thread over the years
