Just curious into knowing how much does an rn start off with if working in a hospital??? Does it depend what unit you choose to work in? Or qualifications you have??

It varies widely from state to state, and even from area to area within states.

most hospitals have a set rate based on how many years of experience you have and then you get yearly raises (hopefully)
I'll tell you in the space of 3 years and a switch between east coast to the west coast, pay increased by almost $20 an hour.

I make 23.39/hr on the east coast. New grad rate for first shift. Increase of 4 dollars ad hour for 2nd shift.

I get paid 22.50/hr. plus one dollor evening diff. New grad lpn in maryland.

I always wondered how people afford to live on the west coast. Now I see that they make double what I do!
