I am just curious. I am 37 and will be taking my last pre-req in January for the nursing program at my local community college. I have noticed many people here are over 30, so I wanted to just blurt out the question. How many of us 30 somethings are making a career change into Nursing?
I'm 37 and making a career change, but I still work in an office for now.
I'm 40, and I am in the middle of an Accelerated BSN (ABSN) program right now. I quit my job as an airline pilot, and my long-term goal is to become a CRNA. I also just got a job as a nurses assistant, part-time, so I can gain some experience...pretty much a resume enhancer. Anyway, good luck to everyone.
Ok...here goes...i'm 46, will graduate ADN in Dec. 08 RN, just took LPN exam in July, passed and landed a job at a LTC facility working on dementia/alzheimers unit. Loving it and looking forward to the future. I have two 50+ students in my class and most other's are "older" students too. We attend an evening/weekender program at our community college...2 nights a week and every other weekend for clinical. Works out great for most of us. We work during the day...have children (i have 2 boys 15, 16) and we really WANT this for ourselves!!
I'm 32 yrs old, and will be 33yrs old in Sept! I'm done with all my prerequistites and applying to 2 colleges. YAY!!! Such a long wait and finally here. I have 3 children, 15yrs, 9yrs & 8yrs.oh ya and a husband..is that a 4th child? anyways..heres to being 30 and successful!!!

I wanna join the club.
I will be turning 30 next month.:biggringi Man time sure has flown by. I started college in 1999, and have gone off and on ever since. I have changed my major a zillion times and I am still not done. But I am finally on the right path and will be applying to NS this Jan and hopefully will be able to start Fall 2008. Can't wait to finally be done. :mortarboard:
I just got married last year and so far no kids. My DH wants us to have kids now:bugeyes: But I finally showed him how tough NS is going to be and he has agreed it would just be too much to handle so we are going to wait.
I am just so ready to get this whole thing going. I feel like I am finally where I need to be in life and that everything is working out. But it sure has taken a lot to get here. And I still feel like I am 20 and don't know much!
Good luck to everyone!!!!

I'll be 31 in October, and am currently taking prereqs - hoping to get accepted for the Fall 2008 into a direct-entry masters or Accelerated BSN program.
Good luck, everyone!
