    Walnut Creek

If Walnut Creek is too expensive, try Pleasant Hill, Concord (if it's a "nice" area, Concord can be shady), Dublin, Castro Valley. All have had prices come down quite a bit. Again, avoid Pittsburg, Antioch, Vallejo I'd say.

    I would completely avoid Pittsburg.

Samuel Merritt ELMSN Fall 2009 Interviews!

Congrats to all you guys - I'm a current ELMSN-FNP student in oakland and I have to say I am really enjoying it. Let me know if anyone has any questions.
  5. In my experience, they care where you did your undergraduate degree, but for additional prerequisites (classes taken post-degree) it doesn't really matter.

Would you relocate your family to go to NP school?

I would not. But I am settled with a husband and three kids. The main reason we wouldn't move is because we are in the top school district in CA and wouldn't want to move out of it. Plus we have a huge group of friends and would not want to leave them. If I were single, and just me and the hubs, I'm sure I would.

I think we need a second degree student section...

I agree that the *idea* is nice. However, if anything, I feel this place has too many forums already. Threads I am interested could be posted anywhere in about 4-5 different forums, which means I usually check each of them every week or so. And some forums move so slowly, it is a bit discouraging to try to post to them. I would actually prefer fewer forums (and hence each one would move more swiftly) :) But like I said, I do agree with your suggestion in theory, especially since I am a 2nd degree student. :)

Hi Wiki - I'm in the ELMSN program too - but I haven't really gotten anything in the mail from them. Have you? I haven't even heard a date about a new student orientation, classes etc. The only thing I received is a letter about their online forum. Oh and the acceptance packet a while ago.

What do you think about this reason for a grade?

I would stand up for myself. I would make sure I only have one misspelled word and then I would email him back.
