How many unvaccinated coworkers are you aware of?

How have you expressed your displeasure about their choice? Are you questioning why they have not been terminated yet?

The government does actually stop you from drinking if that choice is going to put others at avoidable risk.  I'm still not sure why you think that premise doesn't also apply to vaccines.

I’m not “johnny come lately” to the pandemic, however, and have direct personal experience of the dramatic difference made by having the majority of our staff and residents vaccinated. The story has been told elsewhere in this  forum, not repeating it here.

If the risks of contagion and serious morbidity don’r change, then why are the vast majority of people hospitalized with Covid unvaccinated?

Granted, the concept of risk reduction is a bit difficult for those stuck in black-and-white thinking, but if you try really hard, you might actually get it.

As for the right of government to impose mandates, it’s you who are the johnny-come-lately.  Vaccination mandates have existed and been upheld by the Supreme Court for over a century (1905). Disease in question was smallpox - I believe that was the very first vaccine invented. Then there’s OSHA, forced treatment for TB and syphilis, really anything that can affect another’s health and/or safety.

So stop pretending that the Covid vaccine and mask mandates are some unprecedented incursion on individual liberties by the libtards - or commies - or socialists - or baby-eating lizard people - or the Jewish space-laser guys - or whomever is the latest rightwingnut boogeyman. This script gets resurrected practically verbatim whenever one screen-name disappears and a new one takes its place. It has nothing to do with either public health or civil rights. It’s about ratings, money and social/political/economic disruption.

Yes, you still refuse to attempt to prove your point and using a term like lord Fauci just proves that you can't defent your argument.  We will be masking as long as it takes people to get vaccinated.  Maybe periodically on and off for years.

4 on my unit. 2 were placed on leave and will lose their jobs at the end of the union grievance process, 1 has a temporary medical exemption and 1 has a religious exemption that is currently being litigated on the state level so might become invalid or not.

Just over 100 employees got placed on leave when the vaccine mandate went in to effect and that represents just under 2% of our workforce so we’re generally well vaccinated.

I want to revisit this question, now that my place of employment has a vaccine mandate in place. 

How many unvaccinated coworkers? ZERO.

This number is a lot different than a couple weeks ago. 
And few dug in and refused to get vaccinated, but most changed their minds and got vaccinated with a looming deadline and threat of losing their jobs. One of the more conspiratorial-minded coworkers actually got vaccinated, THAT WAS A SURPRISE. There were a handful of exemptions, but vaccine-exempted employees are not allowed to provide direct patient care. So it's now ZERO on my unit. 

World of difference. Mandates work.

Even though I go to an online school we are all required to be vaccinated.  My work has not stated one way or the other.  It is a non contact position.  I recently had to place my Mom in a LTC facility.  One CNA came in and just scared the crap out of my Mom.  She told us, that she will never get the vaccine, they can test her every day.  She has had Covid, it wasn't a big deal, and the vaccine is no good.  Only God makes the decision whether it's your time to go.  She told my Mom (who has been vaccinated) the vaccine is worthless.  

Oh the uninformed.

Hmmmm.  They allow her to work with patients?  That's a lawsuit in the making.
