How have you expressed your displeasure about their choice? Are you questioning why they have not been terminated yet?

I like all matters of discussion. Cut and Paste articles, not so much. I want to hear from you, your thoughts, and opinions in your own words.

More concern should be for rushed tested patients from ER being transferred to a unit, instead of HCW who wear required surgical mask while on duty who may not be vaccinated.  My last shift yet another patient had to be isolated cause a patient from ER who was tested negative later turned out to be positive.

Not vaccinated, then they shouldn't have the option to wear surgical mask. N95 all the time while in patient care areas.

I think you're misunderstanding the function of N95 masks.  Surgical masks are intended to provide source control - they are reasonably effective at catching exhaled respiratory secretions.  N95 masks are designed to filter exhaled air as minimally as possible while filtering inhaled air.  Non-valved masks are certainly better but still not filter exhaled air at the same efficiency that they filter inhaled air.

Either type of mask are better than nothing, but still not as effective as being vaccinated plus masking.

I agree. Some are relaxed with the PPE because they are vaccinated. And remember there are those who cannot get vaccinated. These patients can get covid from the vaccinated AND the unvaccinated.

So you get rid of the unvaccinated, leading to a higher patient to hcw ratio. That will not cause things to spread.

This is a popular trope among those spreading misinformation, but the vaccinated and unvaccinated are not equally likely to transmit Covid to others.

Umm wrong. You are using a misinformation trope. I clearly said that immuned compromised can get covid from both the vaccinated and unvaccinated. Never said equally, you added that. By the way I checked my facts with the CDC and Clevland Health Institute.

Just because you are vaccinated doesnt mean you can not be a risk to others. Not everyone can get vaccinated.

Why are they rushing patients out of the Emergency Department?

Yes, I added that, because without adding that clarification to "These patients can get covid from the vaccinated AND the unvaccinated." you are suggesting that each is comparable.

Rushed tested for COVID or claim that the patient is negative. I have no clue why it happens. Busy? I guess. Still is has happened a few times. Maybe the RNs in ER doing the tests aren't doing them correctly. When a pt comes to a unit and the nurse who does a better tests gets a positive. This is only after that positive patient has shared a room with another person for a week or more.

Comparing what? Vaccinated and the unvaccinated can both spread the virus. Going on about who can spread it more is a strawman and has nothing to do with my statement. Now if I claimed that the unvaccinated is least likely to spread it similar to the vaccinated then you will have a point.

The CDC says:

"To reduce the risk of being infected with the Delta variant and possibly spreading it to others, wear a mask indoors in public if you are in an area of substantial or high transmission"

"If you are fully vaccinated and become infected with the Delta variant, you can spread the virus to others.

People with weakened immune systems, including people who take immunosuppressive medications, may not be protected even if fully vaccinated"

Me thinks that some fully vaccinated people have a dangerous elitists mentality.

I get what you're saying; while your statement is incredibly misleading it is still technically correct.  Like if someone commented on someone's parachute wearing when jumping out of an airplane by saying "you know you can die whether you are wearing a parachute or not".  Technically correct but not something any reasonably responsible person says without proper clarification.

So you are suggesting that the ED staff is not able to properly do a nasal swab or that they are just lying? You do realize that a negative test today is not guaranteed to be negative tomorrow, right?

I do not know the vaccination statuses of my coworkers. I mind my business.
