How Many people did your program start out with?

Published

My program started out with 32 people and now we are down to 20 people, 5 people failed, 2 people had to quit because of personal issues, 2 girls had an arguement and fight, and the other 3 got kicked out for attendance.

we statred with 18 and now we're down to 12 and were only finishing 2nd mod

We started on August 19th. We had 48 but only 44 showed up. I hope and pray we all graduate together May2015

We are down to 43 now

We started with 31, 4 dropped, within the month 3 other people dropped.

We are left with 24, which is perfect because both clinical sites take 12 students.

I better stop reading this. This is discouraging and really scary stuff! I haven't started my LVN program yet. I hope I make it since it looks like a lot of people don't. Yikes! :nailbiting:

It really depends on the program. Some will have half their class fail, others (like mine) had years where nobody failed. You should ask about the pass/graduation rate to your prospective schools.

We have had about 10 as of now that dropped.

Specializes in IDD, Psych.

Started with 51 currently at 11 of the original 51 with 12 weeks till graduation

Don't let the number if people that fail out scare you!! In my program we have had a lot of people drop out and fail out, but not because the program is so hard. It's because they either weren't ready for the responsibility and blew off studying, or they were there for the wrong reasons. All of us that study and try are getting just fine grades. I wouldn't let that stress you out. Just show up every day, do the homework, pay attention, and study. You will be fine.

The class before mine started with 35 and only 9 finished, but all 9 passed the NCLEX. My class has already had one drop, and we are only on day 4. I think our program is exceptionally demanding because of the number of LPN programs in the area and limited number of clinical sites. Last year a few of the for profit schools were banned from the clinical sites due to the students lack of knowledge, attitude and professionalism this school was not. (which is one of the reasons why I picked this school when I was "shopping schools" last year)

For my LPN schooling we started with 65 or so, ended up graduating with 34. Of those 34, 3 were were people who had failed in a previous class and were repeating the section.

The first two weeks they were dropping like flies. Some came into the program not realizing how intense it was and decided it wasn't for them, some had financial aid difficulties, others had personal reasons/issues, etc. During the program we lost several students each semester due to grades. My school had a crazy high grade they required in order to be considered 'passing' and move onto the next class.

I really can't comment on my RN program, because I did not start from the beginning of the program. I entered the nursing program at the beginning of the 2nd year of the 2 year program. Even during the 2nd year, we lost several students due to grades. :(

When you reply can you also state what type of school you go to?

Community college?

Private school?

Trade school?
