I am a stay at hoemmom to 2 boys, age 7.5 and almost 4, and a little girl who is 20 months. After thinkign long and hard about our future, knowing I did not want to be an at home mom once my kids were in school, I decided to pursue nursing. Luckily dh is very proud of my choice, and I am takign night classes so the kids will be with him at night. Anyhow, was wonderign how many more moms are doing prenursing right now?

I am mom to 4 kids, ages 8-13, and done with pre reqs. I start school in 46 days!!! Good luck to all~

I AM A MOM TO 2 KIDS AGES 6 AND 4. I AM STARTING LPN SCHOOL IN SEPT.:lol2: I ALSO WORK PART TIME ON SUNDAYS .

I am with you. I have 3kids, 9,4, and 2...and a 12yo stepson who lives with us. I started taking pre-reqs and co-reqs here and there and I will be starting NS in the fall. I will be graduating around the same time my youngest starts full day school so then I can go to work. I am putting my youngest two in daycare three days a week while I am in school, it is a pre-school environment so I think it will be good for them. Best wishes to all working and student moms!!

I'm a stay at home mom of 4 children ages 3-17. I'm a bit overwhelmed because I'm starting nursing school in the fall and I'll also be home-schooling my 2 middle children 5 and 10, watching my 3 year old and keeping my teenager in line :uhoh3:. When you have a family you have to become creative with your schedule. For me, I could only apply to nursing programs that had evening programs. Luckily, I had 3 programs to choose from.

This summer, I'm trying to get organized. I'm attempting to make up weekly schedules to fit everything in. I think when you go to nursing school and you have children, you have to be ready to delegate some tasks to others (especially cleaning chores),which I'm happy to give away. My husband is not a great cook, so I am looking into making a couple of weeks worth of meals at a time and freezing them. This way he just has to pop them in the oven.

I know I have a difficult two years ahead of me, but it is worth it. The goal is to become a nurse, and I'm sure it will be an up-hill hike the whole way. For me, I say lace up your hiking boots and start up that hill! Good luck to all the mothers pursuing nursing school :).

i love using the crock pot, especially in the fall/winter!! i can leave it cook while i'm at work and then my husband and daughter can eat when they get home!!! just an idea!

Luckily the nursing program I am planning on going into has a night and weekend program. I am going to tour it on monday. Ive talked to them, but I keep comign up with mroe questions, so i figured I might as well do the tour and get all the info at once.

Dh said soemthign about going on a killer vaca after I get out of school!lol.

I think a vacation sounds like a good idea...I might have to do that myself!!

I am also going to school at night as I work all day. Only one school here offers that, so I have to stick with it! No other choice...I carry the insurance for our family, so I have to work!! Not seeing my daughter when I beging the Nursing classes will be the hardest part I think!

I am too.... a stay at home mom to a daughter about to turn 9 and a 5 year old son. I'm not pre-nursing anymore, but I'm entering into my 2nd semester of nursing school in August.

I am a stay at home mom too, I have 2 eight yr old boys and 1 ten year old girl. I started going back to school soon as my twins started kinder. I have been going part time and working around their schedule its worked out great. Hopefully starting spring 08 I'll be full time nursing student I am just sitting here waiting to apply. By then the boys will be halfway through 3rd grade and my daughter will be finishing 5th.

I started on my pre-reqs this past January. I work part-time and have 2 girls ages 2 and 7. Thank the lord for my husband. I could not do this without his support.

I am fulltime working mom of two. My oldest is 16 and my youngest 7. It is crazy aound my house at times with mom going back to school but my kids are helping as much as they can. I am taking most of my classes online right now so that I can get more situated for the drop in income when I get in.

;)

I'm a mom of 2 (4 & 16 months) and have one more class to take before I can be accepted into the nursing program at my school. I work full-time and hope to go part-time when my older son goes to kindergarten (which is Sept. 2008 so that is when I'm planning on starting nursing school). Right now I'm just trying to save as much as possible to pay for tuition, books, etc in hopes of not having to take out huge loans to pay for school. I am a little concerned about the amount of studying I will need to do in NS and having little kids but I will cross that bridge when it comes.
