How many men in your cohort?

Published

We had Nursing orientation today and I had my first opportunity to meet my fellow students. It turns out there are only 3 men including me in our class of 45. How many men are in your cohort?

4 out of 34. We started out with around 9 out of 75. I am also the only one in the program under 21. I turn 21 the week of graduation!

Specializes in Acute Care Director.

I think we have 8 in our LVN class of 80

We have 4 out of 60! ADN Program

Specializes in Cardiac, CVICU.

2 out of 12 in my class.

5 or 6 out of 35-ish in my whole program.

Had orientation last Friday and saw my classmates for the first time, there are 4 of us guys out of about 25. Interesting we're all above 5'11 with athletic/muscular builds, I wouldn't expect the other 3 to be interested in nursing just judging from appearance, they look like meat heads lol

We have about 6 or 8 out of 60 or so. I'm not male but my fiance is in my same cohort.

Specializes in Emergency Room.

In my LPN program I was the only male out of about 27 students. In my RN program though when I finished there were 38 of us and about 10 were men.

In my PN program there are 3 of us in a class of 21. It's funny to see the dynamic of a classroom full of females after 9 months!

Specializes in Medical ICU/ED.

There were about 7 out of 56 in my graduating class. I must say, us men get pampered real good in nursing school.:up:

Specializes in Emergency.

There's about 20 or so men out of 50.

I am in a BSN class of 50 students. 4 of them are male. 8%!!!!!
