I received the ACEMAPP email yesterday! I hand delivered my acceptance response this morning. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone on July 17th!

I just got the email about insurance. There were a lot of people cc'd on it, I imagine that means you got in? I don't see them wasting time emailing someone that didn't' get in about insurance, but what do I know? Haha Anyone planning on hand delivering their acceptance response?

brandeholm83 I haven't gotten anything about insurance? I know we have to have proof of insurance when we start though.

So...... I just emailed the administrative assistant. He told me that they won't be mailing out letters until the end of the week This is taking so much longer than I had thought!!!

So my route has been a little different! You can probably tell by my username, but I'm an LPN. I graduated from GNTC in 2013 and worked for several years. I had planned on applying for the LPN-ASN bridge program, but I saw that I would have all the pre-reqs for the traditional program in time to apply. So here I am! My basic stats are: A's in both A&P's, C in Micro , Mostly A's and B's in other general pre-reqs, TEAS Sci-84 TEAS Math-87, and SAT verbal and math combined was 1100. My admissions score was calculated in the low 1200's, but they said the cut-off last year was 1050. I'm stalking the mail everyday now! Good luck to everyone!

To be honest, almost no one knows much about nursing when they first graduate. Like the other poster said, a License is more of a learning permit. The right LTC will provide you invaluable experience as a new nurse. From time management to basic patient care, it really is a great place to start. As far as CNA cooperation, once you have a bit of a routine down help them. I got so much respect and cooperation from CNA's when I showed them that I can help them when they help me. This 1,000 times. I have worked exclusively LTC/SNF in my few years as a nurse. The corporate take over has happened to me once and went exactly as you've described. Went from having tons of nurses and help running all over each other to bare bones. Its all about the mighty dollar to corporate people. One of the other facilities I worked was under a large South-Eastern corporation and it was quite possibly the worst example of dollars over patient care I've ever seen. As someone else mentioned we'd send people right back to the hospital only hours after arrival. Glad you got out! I'm currently back in school to get my ASN and broaden my job prospects.

From what I have been told, there are typically a couple of hundred applicants. They accept 60 students to the program each year, then a further 25 students for the LPN/Paramedic Bridge program in the fall. Good luck to you!

No, we don't get any confirmation. You can call the nursing department at Heritage Hall and ask to speak to the administrative assistant. He has helped me a ton and can probably confirm that your application was received. It does suck not finding out for a while. Based on some of the past threads on here they have typically gotten their letters no later than the first week in June. Good luck to you!
