We had Nursing orientation today and I had my first opportunity to meet my fellow students. It turns out there are only 3 men including me in our class of 45. How many men are in your cohort?

I would guess about 20 to 30 out of 125 to 150. Throughout the semester, I've always had at least one male in the group except Adult Health II but that was because I signed up before the male could sign up for that spot out of 7.

12 males out of 29 (ABSN program)
THat's interesting.....do you think it's because the economy is so bad that there are many that were laid off....can't find work and turning to nursing because there is a "need"?

Wow seems like my school is abnormal... in a class of 30, we have 14 men. Of all the students, the oldest is 45 and the youngest is 18.

I wish more men would go out for nursing. I like diversity in my surroundings.

About 60 of us graduated, I was the only male. Just took a nurse refresher course after being off the floors for some time, there were 29 of us, again I was the only male.
At least in this area, males are on the endangered species list.

we started out as 7 out of 32, now we are entering fourth semester, and we have 5 out of 24.
