I graduated a few weeks ago and sent my applications a few days after graduation (to the MA state board and Pearson Vue). How long does it take to get an authorization to test? I want to take the NCLEX asap. Thanks!
I wouldn't be so impatient about getting my ATT if I had any idea how long it would take to get an appointment for testing when I called to schedule. I'm supposed to start my job on July 24th. If I'm not licensed by then, I'll have to wait another month!! Aide work is killing me more by the day, and I've been doing it for six years! Can anyone give me some words of wisdom, or at least tell me to CHILL OUT?
3 to 4 weeks is the duration of time it takes to receive your ATT (authorization to test), and then you can schedule to take your NCLEX examination. Many factors are responsible for the delay, and it will depend on how quickly your school and your state board of nursing process your documents to the respective place where it needs to go.

In Cali, we are eligible to take boards after critical care. We can also receive an A.S. at this time, but many continue a couple more quarters to receive a B.S.N. The transcripts sent to the board of nursing contain all courses that are taken up to date. So if I had selected B.S.N., they would have required me to provide a transcript that includes all the B.S.N. courses I have yet to take. So you see, even though I'm receiving my B.S.N., they only have transcripts for an AS; that's why you have to select A.D.N. You can choose B.S.N., but you would have to wait till you are completely done with your courses to take the test as a BSN-prepared nurse (but it's the same test).
