How long does it take to get ATT for NCLEX

Updated:   Published

I graduated a few weeks ago and sent my applications a few days after graduation (to the MA state board and Pearson Vue). How long does it take to get an authorization to test? I want to take the NCLEX asap. Thanks!

I got my ATT in two weeks online.

What do you mean that you put ADN when getting a BSN? Do you represent that you were still finishing the semester when you applied? I thought you had to put the degree you are receiving.

In Cali, we are eligible to take boards after critical care. We can also receive an A.S. at this time, but many continue a couple more quarters to receive a B.S.N. The transcripts sent to the board of nursing contain all courses that are taken up to date. So if I had selected B.S.N., they would have required me to provide a transcript that includes all the B.S.N. courses I have yet to take. So you see, even though I'm receiving my B.S.N., they only have transcripts for an AS; that's why you have to select A.D.N. You can choose B.S.N., but you would have to wait till you are completely done with your courses to take the test as a BSN-prepared nurse (but it's the same test).

That is so cool that you can do that! It sounds more straightforward to get a bachelor's degree that way.

I wouldn't be so impatient about getting my ATT if I had any idea how long it would take to get an appointment for testing when I called to schedule. I'm supposed to start my job on July 24th. If I'm not licensed by then, I'll have to wait another month!! Aide work is killing me more by the day, and I've been doing it for six years! Can anyone give me some words of wisdom, or at least tell me to CHILL OUT?

I got my ATT a week after the state BON got my info from my school (my school took a month to send that stuff to them).

It took a while for my school to send my info to the Hawaii BON, but once they got it last week, my ATT came in an e-mail on Monday from Pearson because I registered with them before I sent my application to the BON.

I'm from the Philippines, and I envy you because you have the luxury of waiting for only a few weeks; here, we must wait for about six months to get an ATT. And Suzzane, is it true that I don't have to take the CGFNS when I apply in Vermont and take the test in Hong Kong?

In MA, the day after graduation, I sent my license request and notified Pearson the same day. Ten days later got an ATT, and I took the test on Monday so I will be taking the test 17 days after graduation.

Wish me luck.

What is the usual waiting time to get the ATT in the past few months?

I got mine within 24 hours in the email after I registered online at Pearson Vue.

3 to 4 weeks is the duration of time it takes to receive your ATT (authorization to test), and then you can schedule to take your NCLEX examination. Many factors are responsible for the delay, and it will depend on how quickly your school and your state board of nursing process your documents to the respective place where it needs to go.
