I graduated a few weeks ago and sent my applications a few days after graduation (to the MA state board and Pearson Vue). How long does it take to get an authorization to test? I want to take the NCLEX asap. Thanks!

I don't know about MA, but in Ohio, we were told it could take anywhere from a few days to a few months! UGH! I hope you get your letter soon! It must be maddening to wait until you are READY to jump on this! Best of luck to you!

Thanks for asking this. I was wondering too. I applied to the state and Pearson online over two weeks ago. I've already paid the fees and am just waiting for ATT so that I can set up a test date. Also, I applied for a temp license from my state because I need it to start my job on June 12th. I'm starting to worry that something happened. We were assured by applying right after graduation; we would receive everything before we began to June jobs.

It depends on how quickly your school sends your transcripts; nothing will be processed without that, even the temporary permit.
The only difference between the temporary permit and the license is passing the NCLREX exam. You must still meet all other licensing requirements, meaning they have your transcripts to evaluate.

We were told that we had to send in the form for licensure but that the school would send in the transcripts. I got an extra copy of my official transcript(which cost me $2.00) and sent it in with the rest of my paperwork. I also sent it via certified mail, so I knew that they had received it. It cost me about $10.00 to do this, but it took less than a week to get my temporary GN license. I didn't trust my school to send things in a timely fashion-I've been burned before.

Wow, I'm worried about not having all of my stuff done for my job starting in August. I know that classmates who sent in their stuff a couple of months ago are just getting their ATTs (in NJ), so evidently the college did send our things into the state. I sent in my Pearson-Vue months ago and just sent in my BON stuff last week and I'm all freaked out that I'm not going to have my ATT before the last week of July so that I can start my job in August.

Have you checked with your school to make sure that they have submitted all the necessary paperwork? This could be the reason for the delay.

I'm in North Carolina.
I graduated on 5/15, the school sent transcripts on 5/22, I registered with Pearson on 5/24, and I got my ATT on 6/4. I tested on 6/28 but had to go outside my nearest center to get a date.

Don't forget to tell them about your dear old friend from your school who is STILL waiting for ATT!! Is it time I call my friend "Scott" again at the BisON?

Does anyone know the waiting time when you register w/ Pearsonvue via their online registration? I did it yesterday.
I registered for Pearson-Vue in February but mailed my application to the NJ BON 2 weeks ago today. They received it the next day (well, because I paid for priority mail), and I just got my ATT today. The FIRST NCLEX date I could get is July 13th.
