How long after graduation did you wait before taking the NCLEX?
Did you take it right after the end of classes, or did you take a few months to study? If you took it right away, do you wish you had taken more time?
i graduated in mid-may and took what were then called "state boards" in july. two full days of paper and pencil testing on the five areas of nursing: medical, surgical, psych, peds, and ob. got my results in october.
yeah, this was in nineteen-smumblemumble. this is why not too may seasoned nurses have an iota of sympathy for the immediate-gratification types who are stricken with anxiety if they test on friday and can't get results until, like, monday, omg!!!
I graduated Feb 16, went to Florida for a week and then registered when I got back. Nearest date began in April, I registered for April 9th. By the grace of god I passed with the minimum! I studied Exam Cram faithfully. Not sure if anything can prepare you for the Nclex but pray and believe in yourself, think like a nurse, and dont panic! Take it as soon as possible is my advice.

I graduated Feb 2012, took a Kaplan course mid-March.. got my ATT late March/early April, scheduled NCLEx April 18th then rescheduled to May 8th giving me a few more weeks to review. A lot of people told me not to reschedule my NCLEx but I didn't want to take it until I felt CONFIDENT to sit for it. I took it at 8am May 8th and passed in 75 questions. I don't regret moving my test date at all. I took it when I felt confident and ready.
