  1. I'm a new LPN and I've been doing Home Health Care for 9 months now. It is great. I've learned so much. Just be sure you get a company that will let you train as much as you feel you need before being on your own. I did that. It has been the best thing. And I have experience on a wide variety of things that look impressive on my resume, such as: "taking vitals; performing assessments; record-keeping and charting; administering medications and injections; suctioning; measuring ketones; giving enemas; digital stimulation; managing/monitoring feeding pumps; G-tube cares; managing oxygen compressor, ventilator, pulse oximeter; administering nebulizer treatments; performing range of motion and other rehabilitation exercises, repositioning, bathing, dressing; aiding clients with seizures or tremors; responding to emergencies".
  2. I took mine within a month. But my friend, who struggled in school and barely passed, waited a whole year. She worked in a hospital, so she continued learning, but she was terrified to take it. I just heard from her and she finally just took it and passed. Yes!
  3. I live in Rochester and am going to nursing school. I worked at Mayo for a while as a Kelly temp. So I know quite a few people who work at Mayo, nurses and otherwise, and I have also done clinicals there as a student. Almost everyone I know likes their job a lot. It's not easy to get in though! Check into it and do lots of homework if you want to be hired. It may take a while.
