Our last day of LPN class is this coming Tuesday. I have heard other nurses talk about taking their test as soon as a couple of weeks after graduation. The director of our program said it would be the third week in September before we would get our authorization to test even though our applications will be sent right after we complete the program. I usually test well and did great on the HESI so the sooner the better as far as I'm concerned. Just wondered what some of your experiences have been. Thanks in advance :)

After completing an LVN/LPN program in October 2005, I received my ATT in November of that year and tested in late December.
I completed an RN bridge program in March 2010, received my ATT in the middle of April, and tested during the middle part of May.

Graduated here in Missouri on July 28th. Recied my ATT on Aug 10th. Took my test on August 19th and passed per "unofficial" results. In my opinion the sooner the better, while things are still fresh in your mind. I am not going to lie the test is HARD!!!. I scored over 1000 on all my HESI's and studying 1-3 hrs everyday after graduation before I tested. Be sure though and the day before your test, go out to the park or movies, do something fun to help ease the stress. Oh and do the Pearson Vue trick after you test, to see how you did. GOOD LUCK!!!

I grad May. Really studied Oct. Took NCLEX Nov and passed w/ 75 questions.
I had a 6mos gap. Was told by instructors my chances of passing 1st try were better w/in 3 mos of graduation. Go figure. :)

I got my ATT 8/11 exactly 2 weeks from my last day of class which was 7/31. The earliest test date was 8/19 (didn't choose) and November was the furthest out test date.
